News anchor Brooke Martin of WISH-TV in Indianapolis <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/anchor-life-baby-anencephaly\/\">shared openly<\/a> last fall that her preborn daughter had been diagnosed with anencephaly.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, March 15, Martin\u2019s daughter, named Emma Noelle, was born and lived for 21 minutes after birth.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook post, Martin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BrookeMartinTV\/posts\/2126401180746650\">wrote<\/a>, \u201cHer perfect lips. Her sweet button nose. Her pretty eyes. Her big feet and long fingers. Her chubby thighs and soft skin. These are thing things I\u2019ll remember about our Emma Noelle. Those, and so much more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FBrookeMartinTV%2Fposts%2F2126401180746650&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"757\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After Emma Noelle was born, Martin and her husband held her and spoke to the daughter they had longed to meet and knew they only had a short time to be with in this life. Martin wrote, \u201cAt one point, while being held by Cole, Emma heard me talking to the doctor. The nurses still remark about her head jerking toward me, recognizing her mama\u2019s voice. She then passed in her Daddy\u2019s arms. I am confident she felt loved.\u201d Martin added that she and her husband also felt loved by Emma in the brief time they were able to spend with her. Emma also met her older brother, Max, before she passed away.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_199014\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-199014\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-199014\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/martin-family-340x700.jpg\" alt=\"anencephaly\" width=\"340\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/martin-family-340x700.jpg 340w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/martin-family-146x300.jpg 146w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/martin-family.jpg 466w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-199014\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Martin family (via Brooke Martin&#8217;s Facebook page)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Martin and her husband Cole chose Emma Noelle\u2019s from the word \u201cEmmanuel,\u201d which means \u201cGod with us.\u201d Martin has shared how her family\u2019s faith has guided them, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/anchor-life-baby-anencephaly\/\">saying<\/a>, \u201cWe are so confident that God\u00a0has a plan for Emma, that he is going to redeem her story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=2244927522385943\">video<\/a> posted the day before Emma Noelle\u2019s delivery, Martin said she had expected to feel dread leading up to the day of her daughter\u2019s birth but what she felt was joy and anticipation. She acknowledged that there had been many emotionally difficult moments throughout the pregnancy, but said she felt a strong sense of peace. To the countless people who heard the Martins&#8217; story and had been praying for a miracle, Martin said, \u201cMiracles have already happened. Martin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BrookeMartinTV\/posts\/2126401180746650\">posted<\/a> on Facebook that the family will celebrate Emma\u2019s life with other families who have experienced infant loss.
