A member of the Created Equal<\/a> team was speaking at a high school when he got into a conversation about abortion<\/a> with four young men. During the debate, the men argued that women should be able to have abortion after rape, because no one would ever want a “rape baby.”<\/p>\n

The pro-lifer, Seth, was handing out pamphlets when a car pulled up with four men inside. One of them asked, “What if I get raped and then I want to abort the baby?” Seth answered by pointing out that in some cultures, women are punished for being raped, which the men agreed was wrong. Seth then pointed out that just as it’s wrong to punish the mother for being raped, it’s wrong to punish the baby. But while the men seemed to disagree with abortion under normal circumstances, they felt that rape was an acceptable occasion.<\/p>\n

“I think personally that if it’s your fault, if it’s your own fault for having the baby, you can’t abort the baby,” one of them said. “But if it’s like rape, or something you didn’t want, then you got it.” As the other men voiced their agreement, he continued, saying, “Like, and you don’t want the baby, you don’t want it. You don’t want a rape baby.”<\/p>\n
