According to a report from Operation Rescue<\/a>, a woman having an elective abortion at Northland Family Planning in Westland, Michigan, suffered the complication of having a hole torn in her uterus.<\/p>\n

The woman went to the facility on December 8, 2018, for her fourth abortion. According to an EMS Pre-Hospital Care Report<\/a> available from the Westland Fire Department and obtained by Operation Rescue, the woman was experiencing severe pain despite the fact that she had been given fentanyl, a drug given for pain. The Care Report states:<\/p>\n

Dispatched for possible uterine perforation following a medical procedure. […] Staff at facility st[ated] they were performing an elective abortion. Staff st[ated] during procedure that a possible uterine perforation occurred due to an excessive amount of fluid being discharged. [… Patient said] she has had three previous abortions with no complications.<\/em><\/p>\n

The woman was taken to Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. Uterine perforation is one of the more common complications of surgical abortions. As former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino<\/a> has stated, these are “blind” procedures in which an abortionist basically pokes around with the abortion tools and can easily punch or tear a hole in the delicate uterine lining.<\/p>\n
