Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) has announced that she will introduce the EACH Women Act (Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance) in the Senate, while Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) will be introducing the bill in the House. The EACH Women Act would overturn the Hyde Amendment<\/a>, not only forcing federal taxpayers to fund abortion, but also banning legislators from working to prevent abortion from being covered by private insurance companies. The Hyde Amendment is estimated to have saved millions of lives<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the key message here is it\u2019s about supporting women of color, working women, and low-income women,\u201d Duckworth said at a press conference. \u201cA right that\u2019s supposed to be for all Americans is being restricted\u2026. It\u2019s fundamentally unfair. I want this to be a discussion moving forward in 2020.\u201d Lee, meanwhile, touted the high number of sponsors she has in the House, and insisted that she plans to see the bill passed. \u201cLast Congress we had 137 cosponsors on this bill. That was two-thirds of the Democratic Caucus,” she said to Think Progress. “So we already know that there is broad support for this bold legislation and we plan to build on that this Congress.”<\/p>\n

But abortion isn’t a “right… for all Americans.” Abortion completely erases men (fathers) from the equation, and completely ignores the reality of the existence of a human being in the womb (pregnancy) — the entire reason a woman would seek abortion in the first place.<\/p>\n

Leana Wen, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood<\/a>, wasted no time applauding the bill on Twitter<\/a>, writing, “This groundbreaking legislation moves us closer to a reality where women can make their own decisions, in consultation with their doctors and their families, without the interference of politicians.” Other pro-abortion groups, like Physicians for Reproductive Health and the Guttmacher Institute, cheered the development as “historic”<\/a> and a way of righting an “injustice.”<\/a>\u00a0The true injustice is abortion itself:<\/p>\n
