Steinem said she\u2019s told by others that it\u2019s still quite relevant. She added, \u201cOn a more serious note, to put it mildly, is why Hitler was actually elected &#8211; and he was elected &#8211; and he campaigned against abortion. I mean, that was \u2014 he padlocked the family planning clinics. Okay, so that is still relevant in the terms of the right wing. So there were very few things, actually, that I had to take out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steinem\u2019s quote is a reference to her essay, \u201cIf Hitler Were Alive, Whose Side Would He Be On?\u201d which was originally printed in MS Magazine in 1980, which also appears in her book. In the essay, Steinem decries the pro-life efforts of social and religious conservatives prior to the election of Ronald Reagan and attempts to draw likenesses to the rise of Hitler.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Just saw a strange clip on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IngrahamAngle?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@IngrahamAngle<\/a> of Gloria Steinem insisting Hitler was anti-abortion. A big lie! Hitler was vehemently anti-abortion for Nordic Germans, and vehemently pro-abortion for the so-called inferior races. This can hardly be called a pro-life position!<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dinesh D&#8217;Souza (@DineshDSouza) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DineshDSouza\/status\/1100602608782327808?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 27, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Steinem\u2019s comparison drew sharp criticism Thursday as pro-lifers pointed out that, in addition to the horrific \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theholocaustexplained.org\/the-final-solution\/\">Final Solution<\/a>\u201d that killed <a href=\"https:\/\/encyclopedia.ushmm.org\/content\/en\/article\/documenting-numbers-of-victims-of-the-holocaust-and-nazi-persecution\">over 6 million<\/a> Jewish men, women, and children, the Nazis eugenics campaign is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/1972501?read-now=1&amp;seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents\">extremely well-documented<\/a>. Only the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.academia.edu\/1378119\/Abortion_and_Womens_Legal_Personhood_in_Germany_A_Contribution_to_the_Feminist_Theory_of_the_State\">\u201cright\u201d women<\/a> were encouraged to procreate under Hitler&#8217;s reign, <strong>while abortion was authorized for Jews, those with Down Syndrome, and other classes of people deemed undesirable by Nazis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-lifers-must-expose-planned-parenthood-sordid-past-and-present\/\">Pro-lifers must expose Planned Parenthood\u2019s sordid past and present<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In contrast to the pro-lifers she maligns, Steinem has unwaveringly supported abortion giant Planned Parenthood, founded by eugenics enthusiast Margaret Sanger. Planned Parenthood continues to this day to target low-income black women, who abort at a rate almost <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/4-african-americans-dedicated-saving-lives-abortion\/\">four times higher<\/a> than white women. As Laura Ingraham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/gloria-steinem-compares-pro-lifers-to-nazis-hitler-campaigned-against-abortion\">pointed out<\/a>, \u201cHitler, just like Planned Parenthood, practiced and defended mass extermination all in the name of racial purity, which is exactly what the founder of Planned Parenthood believed. Margaret Sanger believed deeply in eugenics.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-holocaust-eugenic-founder\/\">Read more on Planned Parenthood&#8217;s eugenic connections to the Nazi regime here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The widespread practice of eugenic abortion, enabled by Planned Parenthood and allies like Steinem, has led to the slaughter of entire groups of stigmatized people in many parts of the world, like those with minor conditions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/down-syndrome-iceland\/\">such as Down Syndrome<\/a>, or even females in China. Planned Parenthood has been caught <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/viewers-react-to-video-showing-planned-parenthood-accepting-donations-to-abort-black-babies\/\">receiving donations for the abortion of black babies<\/a>.
