Planned Parenthood president claims abortion is &#8216;pro-life&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>In an astounding interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interviewmagazine.com\/culture\/planned-parenthoods-dr-leana-wen-explains-to-chelsea-clinton-why-now-is-not-the-time-to-play-nice\">Interview magazine<\/a> last week, Chelsea Clinton and Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen perpetuated the myth that Planned Parenthood is about women\u2019s health &#8212; and stunningly proclaimed that the abortion giant is \u201cpro-life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While discussing the \u201creproductive healthcare\u201d Planned Parenthood claims to offer, Wen deliberately focused on the terminology: \u201cUnderstanding abortion and reproductive healthcare in the context of the whole person is really important. I also want us to consider our choice of language when we define these movements. The pro-choice\/pro-life dichotomy is problematic to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>CHELSEA CLINTON: I refuse to refer to the anti-choice movement as anything other than anti-choice.<\/p>\n<p>LEANA WEN: Our nurses and our clinicians are all here because we believe in life. Being pro-choice is being pro-women. It\u2019s being pro-family. It\u2019s being pro-community. It\u2019s being pro-life.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is not the first time Wen has attempted to co-opt the term \u201cpro-life\u201d for the organization that ends the lives of 320,000 unborn babies per year. Last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortion-promotes-life\/\">Wen claimed<\/a> that her organization \u201cpromotes life,\u201d and said that \u201cEverything I\u2019ve ever done is to save lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, even <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-lisa-harris-dismembering-sad\/\">abortionists<\/a> admit that what they do is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bfWB7tcAdhw\">ending a life<\/a>. In a recent debate, self-proclaimed &#8220;Christian&#8221; abortionist Willie Parker (who has compared himself to Jesus Christ) conceded that abortion kills a human being:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9WxzAvhpd_s\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It may seem puzzling that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/\">dismembering babies<\/a> is somehow \u201cpro-family\u201d and \u201cpro-life,\u201d but Wen and Clinton seem desperate to gain control of the debate by co-opting these terms. &#8220;He who defines the terms wins,&#8221; so to speak, and terminology used to describe things define the parameters of debate. Killing cannot, by its very nature, be pro-life. It takes life. Wen and Clinton are engaging in a sort of Orwellian &#8220;Newspeak&#8221; when they claim that abortion is pro-life. It is an attempt to edge pro-lifers out of the conversation on abortion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-killing-babies-harvests-organs\/\">Abortionist admits to killing babies; harvests their \u2018intact\u2019 brains, eyes, lungs<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In short, Wen\u2019s use of the labels \u201cpro-women,\u201d \u201cpro-family,\u201d and \u201cpro-life,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/ombudsman\/Politics_and_the_English_Language-1.pdf\">in the words of George Orwell<\/a>, are \u201cdesigned to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to Chelsea Clinton\u2019s protestations, pro-lifers aren&#8217;t \u201canti-choice.\u201d We rightly believe abortion is not choice at all, and we offer <em>more choices<\/em>\u00a0to women and their children than the abortion industry does. \u00a0We are pro-life for every mother <em>and<\/em> child. Abortion is not healthcare. It is not pro-woman, and it can never be pro-life.
