This is nothing new. Here are a list of facts that everyone should know, minus Planned Parenthood&#8217;s spin:<\/p>\n<p><strong>False Claim #1: Anti-abortion politicians and activists push inflammatory lies about abortion.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fact is, abortion itself was based on a series of lies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lie: The preborn baby is not a human deserving of protection.<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehd.org\/dev_article_unit4.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The science of fetal development<\/a>\u00a0proves that preborn children are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/first-trimester-babies-complex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">living human beings<\/a>. At just six weeks, a fetal heartbeat can be <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/listen-heartbeats-preborn-babies-young-five-weeks-captured-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">detected<\/a> and\u00a0a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bHe8YGPGzj4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">baby<\/a> will\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehd.org\/dev_article_unit6.php#facesensetouch\">move away<\/a>\u00a0if his or her mouth is touched.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lie: Thousands of women died every year from illegal abortions.<\/strong>\u00a0Those\u00a0statistics were made up. The <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/thousands-women-werent-dying-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">real number<\/a> was a mere\u00a0<em>fraction<\/em>\u00a0of this.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/preview\/mmwrhtml\/00041486.htm#00001660.htm\">According to the CDC<\/a>\u00a0in 1972, the year prior to Roe, there were 39 deaths due to illegal abortions and 24 deaths from <em>legal<\/em>\u00a0procedures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lie: Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, was gang raped.\u00a0<\/strong>The truth\u00a0is that \u201cRoe\u201d \u2013 Norma McCorvey \u2013 was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tOcRxz3PT6Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">never<\/a>\u00a0raped and never even wanted an abortion. In fact, Norma became pro-life and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wsbkLTxnb4I\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sought<\/a>\u00a0to overturn the infamous decision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>False Claim #2: A small minority of Americans want to ban abortion, and most people support abortion access abortion without interference from politicians.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These are the facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most Americans have\u00a0never been confronted with what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/?__hstc=61024563.131f6ad17c7b8ef27adcdb1b7c6e1c29.1509667297958.1550688622868.1550691461935.2172&amp;__hssc=61024563.12.1550691461935&amp;__hsfp=2246672976\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion<\/a> actually is and have <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/new-poll-majority-against-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no idea<\/a> that <em>Roe<\/em> and its companion cases made abortions legal in <em>all trimesters<\/em> of pregnancy, for any reason, under the so-called &#8220;health&#8221; exception.<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/poll-75-percent-abortion-restricted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent<\/a> Marist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kofc.org\/un\/en\/resources\/communications\/american-attitudes-abortion-knights-of-columbus-marist-poll-slides.pdf\">poll<\/a>\u00a0found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/marist-poll-finds-3-in-4-americans-support-substantial-abortion-restrictions-300778767.html\">that<\/a>\u00a0\u201coverwhelming majorities support substantial restrictions on abortion,\u201d with\u00a0<strong>61 percent of those who identified as \u201cpro-choice\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0stating they wanted abortion allowed\u00a0<em>only in the first three months of pregnancy<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 at most.<\/li>\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/articles\/2019\/01\/18\/poll_shows_most_americans_favor_limits_on_abortion_139205.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> by Real Clear Politics found that &#8220;[a]lmost two-thirds of Americans (65 percent) say they want the Supreme Court to revisit\u00a0Roe\u00a0in a substantial way. This includes 16 percent who want the court to rule that abortion should be illegal, and about half (49 percent) who say that restrictions should be allowed as determined by each state.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Gallup has also <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/1576\/abortion.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a> a majority of Americans favor restricting abortion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V1rWLq5g86o\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-harvests-body-parts-babies-lying-women-fetal-development\/\">Planned Parenthood lies to women about fetal development while harvesting fetal body parts<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Claim #3: Anti-abortion politicians are making bogus claims not based in fact or science about the tiny percentage\u00a0of abortions that occur later in pregnancy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is the truth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What Planned Parenthood fails to state is that roughly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/state-abortions-happening-later\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">100,000 abortions<\/a> occur in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy every year. By the abortion industry&#8217;s own reported numbers, approximately <strong>12,000 occur after 21 weeks<\/strong>. There is no federal requirement to report abortions by weeks of gestation.<\/li>\n<li>Defenders of late-term abortion frequently make the assertion that late-term abortions are <a href=\"https:\/\/drjengunter.wordpress.com\/2016\/10\/20\/donald-trump-confuses-birth-with-abortion-and-no-there-are-no-ninth-month-abortions\/\">\u201calmost always\u201d<\/a> carried out in cases of severe fetal abnormality or danger to the mother\u2019s life,\u201d according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/questions-and-answers-on-late-term-abortion\/\">February 2019 report<\/a> published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/questions-and-answers-on-late-term-abortion\/\">Charlotte Lozier Institute<\/a> (CLI).\u00a0 But\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/journals\/psrh\/2013\/11\/who-seeks-abortions-or-after-20-weeks#\">a study form the pro-abortion Guttmacher<\/a> says,\u00a0\u201cMost women seeking later abortion fit at least one of five profiles: They were raising children alone, were depressed or using illicit substances, were in conflict with a male partner or experiencing domestic violence, had trouble deciding and then had access problems, or were young and nulliparous.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fraction-abortions-rape-incest-health\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">analysis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> conducted by Live Action News in 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fraction-abortions-rape-incest-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a> that of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16 states <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which report abortion by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reason,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">only a fraction of abortions generally (all trimesters) are committed for reasons of rape, incest, or mother\u2019s health.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Late-term abortion measures allow abortion for reasons of the mother&#8217;s \u201chealth.\u201d That language comes from the broad language of\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>companion decision,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.findlaw.com\/us-supreme-court\/410\/179.html\">Doe v. Bolton<\/a><\/em>, which ensures that abortion can be done for virtually any reason. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.findlaw.com\/us-supreme-court\/410\/179.html\">text of Doe<\/a>\u00a0reads:\u00a0<em>\u201cWe agree with the District Court, 319 F. Supp., at 1058, that the medical judgment may be exercised\u00a0<strong>in the light of all factors \u2013 physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman\u2019s age \u2013 relevant to the wellbeing of the patient<\/strong>. All these factors may relate to health\u2026.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lie #4: Trump lied about how abortions work in his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-sotu-preborn-children-family-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of the Union address<\/a>, and used outrageous rhetoric that vilifies women&#8230;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-sotu-preborn-children-family-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, &#8220;Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother\u2019s womb moments before birth.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_vbJhlBpDs4\">See video of that cheering here.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There were cheers, at the time the radical measure <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPNYCAction\/status\/1087830306823041024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed<\/a> and was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hiMuZv9k_x0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; including from abortion corporation,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-cheers-new-york-virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Pro-abortion Virginia Delegate Kathy Tran herself\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/virginia-democrat-abortion-bill-labor\/\">admitted her failed measure allowed for abortion even after a woman goes into labor<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Late-term abortion measures reviewed by Live Action News offered no prohibitions or criminal penalties for abortions committed just prior to birth. In fact, one measure removed abortion from the criminal penal code altogether and others removed protections for <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/babies-born-alive-abortions-continue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">babies born alive<\/a> following the abortion attempt.<\/li>\n<li>Planned Parenthood spokesperson Erica Sackin was recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PbpsqulllDo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a> when late-term abortions should be illegal, and she refused to say. Years prior to this, a Planned Parenthood lobbyist was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/john-mccormack\/video-planned-parenthood-official-argues-for-right-to-post-birth-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a>\u00a0by Florida lawmakers, &#8220;What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?\u201d She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qEv1afKaLhA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responded<\/a>, &#8220;That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Despite PPACT&#8217;s attempt to vilify pro-lifers and confuse the public, they included statistics which pro-lifers would see as good news:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a022 states have laws&#8230; that would ban abortion if Supreme Court overturned <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>16 abortion-related cases are moving through federal courts&#8230; one step away from Supreme Court.<\/li>\n<li>More than 420 state restrictions have gone into law since 2011.<\/li>\n<li>In 2017, 19 states passed 63 laws restricting abortion [the most] since 2013.<\/li>\n<li>So far in 2019&#8230; 10 states introduced six-week abortion bans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Planned Parenthood is invested in abortion, with president Leana Wen calling it their &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-prez-abortion-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">core mission<\/a>&#8221; with plans to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortion-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expand abortion<\/a>&#8221; in 2019. The abortion corporation commits over 320,000 abortions each year while receiving half a billion dollars in taxpayer funds.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Editor&#8217;s Note: 4\/18\/21<\/strong>:\u00a0The FDA has received reports of serious adverse events in women who took Mifeprex. As of December 31, 2018, there were reports of 24 deaths of women associated with Mifeprex since the product was approved in September 2000, including two cases of ectopic pregnancy resulting in death; and several cases of severe systemic infection (also called sepsis), including some that were fatal.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The adverse events cannot with certainty be causally attributed to mifepristone because of concurrent use of other drugs, other medical or surgical treatments, co-existing medical conditions, and information gaps about patient health status and clinical management of the patient.
