And soon, the world\u2019s second-most visited tourist attraction, which sees approximately 360,000 people pass through per day, will be broadcasting the humanity of the unborn via a live 4D ultrasound.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on the Family, one of the most influential pro-life organizations in the country, announced the event in <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/us\/2019\/february\/live-ultrasounds-coming-to-nyc-times-square-theres-no-way-a-persons-going-to-be-able-to-say-thats-not-a-child\">CBN&#8217;s interview<\/a> with president Jim Daly Tuesday on Faith Nation: \u201cWe want to do everything in good taste. I think really what\u2019s happened in New York and in Virginia has prompted a response,\u201d Daly said. \u201cWe\u2019re announcing May 4th in Times Square, we\u2019re going to do an event [&#8230;] We\u2019ll have great speakers. We\u2019re going to have music, but we\u2019re also going to do a live ultrasound of a 3rd Trimester baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is the culmination of Focus on the Family&#8217;s 12-week &#8220;See Life Clearly&#8221; campaign in response to New York&#8217;s new abortion law. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EEFP75dLb3\">https:\/\/t.co\/EEFP75dLb3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RELEVANT (@RELEVANT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RELEVANT\/status\/1096446793372577798?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 15, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Last month, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a measure into law that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/new-york-nixes-protections-preborn\/\">allows abortion through all stages of pregnancy and rescinds protections for babies born alive after an abortion<\/a>. In a statement made at the time, Gov. Cuomo <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/430265-conservative-group-to-broadcast-live-third-trimester-ultrasound-in-times\">applauded<\/a> the move: &#8220;With the signing of this bill, we are sending a clear message that whatever happens in Washington, women in New York will always have the fundamental right to control their own body.&#8221; Hailed as a victory by extreme pro-abortion advocates, the law has been widely <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/faith-leaders-new-york-abortion\/\">condemned by faith leaders<\/a>, and a recent Marist poll shows that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kofc.org\/un\/en\/resources\/communications\/american-attitudes-abortion-knights-of-columbus-marist-poll-slides.pdf\">only 25%<\/a> of self-described pro-choice individuals favor abortion in all three trimesters of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ipV4OYnlMDA\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In contrast to Cuomo\u2019s position, Jim Daly discussed the ability to see the humanity of the unborn child with new ultrasound technology: \u201cWith the 4D technology that we have, it looks like a 1-year-old picture, a baby of a 1-year-old. It\u2019s phenomenal, and there is no way a person going to be able to say, \u2018That is not a child.\u2019 It is a child and we want everybody to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-industry-lies-ultrasound-laws\/\">The abortion industry lies to women. That\u2019s why we need ultrasound laws.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Daly continued: \u201cLets see what an ultrasound looks like. I doubt that they have actually seen one. And so to be able to do that on the jumboscreen, to say, \u2018Here\u2019s a baby in the third trimester of pregnancy. Look at the definition. These children are viable outside the womb. These children are already fully human.\u2019 And for the world to see that, and to do it in such a way that we can all peer into the womb and see what that child looks like [&#8230;] What an awesome sight to see! Then these politicians will have to defend their position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daly specifically cited the legislation in New York and in Virginia as the inspiration for this event. He described Virginia as, \u201cpromoting infanticide. Once a baby is born, if it\u2019s not viable outside the womb or if it\u2019s severely handicapped, they\u2019re going to let that baby sit on a table and then the mother and a physician decide whether or not to let that baby live. That\u2019s not the country we live in, and that\u2019s not the law of the land, actually.
