It was founded in 2003 by Amy Hagstrom Miller, who recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-cheers-new-york-virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supported<\/a>\u00a0late-term abortion measures like those attempted in Virginia. Interestingly,\u00a0Planned Parenthood, the nation&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-more-abortion-less-healthcare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">largest<\/a> abortion vendor, has since swooped in to take WWH&#8217;s business, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ppsouthtexas\/posts\/10156393105619858?__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARAJD14690URdC5aIL1DCU5sZOUETkJ5K2sc3HVN4eZp9eEzhjY2Kip0bGq-POyoxQYuZhofqjXr1orMwsBS2OxXBdPORiclkTeiwNNgq4B_k9p9uLty4VWqko__VbOwiyFHLzmPFlw9xC1HZbiAsCKsX63IcQbo1Iu7YSeB1veYaorX1e97YNUuUDVgiaVKGsJ5iX-I7avnj944dA2uuirA1X096y8Src2od6bzKBs1EJSpbf61LoQ5A_MwG9uCU8qHo9dV5hboUcN_CSxmpjxWVotnJCa3wYy_c4-0ePf6pcaS95E1GGU3wcyuqtqW4y2vtdgsNHQ2U4nUS-sx&amp;__tn__=-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcing<\/a> the expansion of its San Pedro facility to commit abortions. (This will be Planned Parenthood&#8217;s second abortion facility in the city. Last year, Planned Parenthood aborted over 1700 babies at its South Texas Medical Center facility, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/foxsanantonio.com\/news\/local\/closure-of-whole-womans-health-leaves-san-antonio-with-2-abortion-clinics?fbclid=IwAR2bENXfTL4-1C5940RJZpYTWy_CM7m1x7xNCZ8SM1DpDzLak3bOvX_lffk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> reports.)<\/p>\n<p>Whole Woman&#8217;s Health gained notoriety as the lead plaintiff in\u00a0<em>Whole Woman\u2019s Health v. Hellerstedt<\/em>, which successfully challenged Texas\u2019 abortion facility requirements (HB2) at the Supreme Court. During this time, WWH was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/half-american-women-abortion-repeat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">propped up<\/a>\u00a0by the pro-abortion philanthropy organization,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tarahealthfoundation.org\/whole-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TARA Health Foundation<\/a>, which issued $433,000 in grants to WWH and has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigdatabase.com\/Big-DB\/USFoundation-profiles\/TARA%20HEALTH%20FOUNDATION-465645300.HTML\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">granted<\/a>\u00a0hundreds of thousands of dollars to Planned Parenthood, among\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foundationsearch.com\/990\/LATEST\/4\/TARA%20HEALTH%20FOUNDATION%202016%20465645300.PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">others<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite positive media coverage, health inspection reports reveal that, in Texas, the abortion chain has not always complied with basic requirements. In 2016, Live Action News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/long-history-of-health-violations-at-abortion-chain-suing-over-pro-life-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">detailed<\/a>\u00a0a long history of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/mz-sSpCqguc\">health violations<\/a> by WWH. And since 2016, this abortion chain continues to prove it has no business staying open. Communities who care about women and children would do well to pay attention and do all they can to provide life-affirming options in their communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/indiana-whole-womans-health\/\">Indiana Department of Health denies license to notorious abortion chain<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_196691\" style=\"width: 763px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-196691\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-196691\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed.jpg\" alt=\"Image: Whole Women's Health abortion facility San Antonio Closed (Image: Facebook) \" width=\"753\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed.jpg 926w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed-768x413.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed-700x376.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WWH-San-Antonio-Closed-500x269.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 753px) 100vw, 753px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-196691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Whole Woman&#8217;s Health abortion facility San Antonio Closed (Image: Facebook)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The pro-life group\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abbyjohnson.org\/abbyjohnson\/2017\/9\/6\/whole-womens-health-exposed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">And There Were None<\/a>\u00a0reviewed inspection reports conducted at various WWH abortion centers from 2011-2017 and found that the abortion chain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failed to properly disinfect and sterilize instruments that were used from woman to woman<\/li>\n<li>Failed to provide a safe and sanitary environment \u2013 products of conception were being examined in the same room where contaminated instruments were being washed<\/li>\n<li>Had expired supplies and medications on its emergency cart<\/li>\n<li>Had cracks, rips, and tears on the vinyl covers of exam tables<\/li>\n<li>Had a hole in the cabinet flooring that had \u201cthe likelihood to allow rodents to enter the facility\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Had suction machines with numerous rusty spots having the \u201clikelihood to cause infection\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Live Action News requested 2018 inspection reports from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and discovered that several health deficiencies were noted as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whole Woman\u2019s Health, Fort Worth, Texas,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WW-Health-of-Fort-Worth_Redacted-03202018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 20, 2018<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failed to ensure that staff responsible for sterilization of critical surgical instruments were trained to meet requirements and demonstrate competency to perform sterilization procedures at the facility<\/li>\n<li>Failed to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, properly instructed, equipped, and maintained to protect the health and safety of patients and staff at all times<\/li>\n<li>Failed to store hazardous cleaning solutions and compounds in a secure manner. These dangerous chemicals were located in patient care areas unsecured throughout the facility.<\/li>\n<li>The physician or agent did not make \u201ca reasonable effort\u201d to ensure that patients who received the abortion pill returned to the facility for follow-up visits as required.<\/li>\n<li>Failed to ensure that all personnel providing direct patient care were certified in basic life support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Whole Woman\u2019s Health Alliance, Austin, Texas <\/strong>(where <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/this-abortionist-claims-abortion-pill-doesnt-need-regulations-hes-wrong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Daniel Grossman<\/a> is on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wwhalliance\/posts\/327679277865421?__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCiSfYxLYElXxIncr8dL4R5h-eckA1AblSoRAfSLO4bYjMK4KH5FTFqFr22Fb6vkRREnWNcGGNVzhknJ6-l83wU4Yx_ejIni-8GWQy8L2FXBNIzY0QUZXp9wWoQsGLEGkNGw_3yA9jLcZkXdeh_w-_G0pvrWzL65xndF1uZiORzo2FEqEfYhDahY5ensLQ27E2QGvE6qtO-pFYq1ttxZKTWXLYixMs8oNrFIeO_Vsm0FPi7OfalyyjQK3B48pSBd6dGt4d4zHkIEhBNx1bv8MCMOb_kwllqhsOrtcMK95XNSemuqmyN3V42vLhuisKWTcsvmUMA6dCrbA1i7FOC1_c&amp;__tn__=-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">board<\/a>), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WW-Health-Alliance_Redacted-10152018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 15, 2018:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failed to be responsible for implementing and enforcing written policies governing the facility\u2019s total operation and ensuring these policies are administered<\/li>\n<li>Failed to ensure a safe and sanitary environment, properly maintained to protect the health and safety of patients and staff<\/li>\n<li>Failed to provide a patient with name and telephone number of nearest hospital in case of emergency. According to the report, despite the fact that a patient lived in Houston, the facility provided them with hospital contact information for Austin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/long-history-of-health-violations-at-abortion-chain-suing-over-pro-life-law\/\">Long history of health violations at abortion chain suing over pro-life law<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Whole Woman\u2019s Health, San Antonio, Texas,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Whole-Womans-Health-of-San-Antonio_Redacted-10162018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 16, 2018<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failed to be responsible for implementing and enforcing written policies governing the facility\u2019s total operation and ensuring these policies are administered<\/li>\n<li>Failed to ensure that policies on decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and storage of sterile supplies were implemented<\/li>\n<li>Failed to ensure each sterilizer was monitored during operation for pressure, temperature and time at desired temperature and pressure<\/li>\n<li>Failed to provide a patient with name and telephone number of nearest hospital in case of emergency. According to the report, the patient\u2019s driver\u2019s license indicated she lived in Mesquite, Texas, but the facility gave her contact information for a hospital that was not the nearest hospital to her home.<\/li>\n<li>Failed to schedule a follow-up appointment as required for a patient who was given the abortion pill<\/li>\n<li>Failed to make a \u201creasonable effort\u201d to ensure several additional patients, also administered the abortion pill, returned for their scheduled follow-up visits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In December of last year,\u00a0an Indiana State Department of Health appeals panel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southbendtribune.com\/news\/local\/panel-explains-why-it-denied-license-for-proposed-south-bend\/article_76598677-1a40-5e76-8713-2f42393e756f.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied<\/a>\u00a0granting\u00a0<span class=\"il\">WWH<\/span>\u00a0a license for an abortion facility in South Bend because, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southbendtribune.com\/news\/local\/panel-explains-why-it-denied-license-for-proposed-south-bend\/article_76598677-1a40-5e76-8713-2f42393e756f.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Bend Tribune<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/wsbt.com\/news\/local\/indiana-state-department-of-health-denies-abortion-clinic-for-dishonest-application?fbclid=IwAR3JhJAVJ1HgWZvZCfBgWpjQMa0PSbQqcRmB5b4J_fv-2LhTS10PFHPxRoM\">WWH<\/a> &#8220;failed to meet requirements of having \u201creputable and responsible character\u201d and that it \u201cfailed to disclose, concealed, or omitted information related to additional clinics.\u201d\u00a0WWH has since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southbendtribune.com\/news\/local\/nonprofit-reapplies-for-license-to-open-abortion-clinic-in-south\/article_c28aef0e-6130-5434-9525-146c8f8b24c8.html?fbclid=IwAR2GSGGfXt2jnko2PsFee0lWPOngS0Rge28pYbx9wCcMHr3-x0lDJP7HRjg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reapplied<\/a> for a license in Indiana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/wsbt.com\/embed\/news\/local\/indiana-state-department-of-health-denies-abortion-clinic-for-dishonest-application?external-id=609e866d3d25411dbb5074e6efac9ff7\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then, in December of 2018, according to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, WWH in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WholeWomansHealth\/photos\/a.245747255472227\/245747635472189\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Antonio<\/a>\u00a0\u201cvoluntarily closed.\u201d Despite the abysmal inspection,\u00a0a report by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/news\/local\/article\/Despite-legal-victory-Whole-Woman-s-Health-13542988.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Antonio-Express News<\/a>\u00a0blamed the closure on \u201ca 42 percent drop in patient volume between the third and fourth quarters of 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joe Pojman, executive director of the Texas Alliance for Life,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/therivardreport.com\/two-abortion-providers-remain-in-san-antonio-following-closure-of-whole-womans-health\/?fbclid=IwAR3Nr36w8khXx10jDNzKK1-V-AE_yxwLGOMlk_-_Gn6gmkZXzDxlGX6aBX8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the Rivard Report he was &#8220;pleased&#8221; WWH&#8217;s San Antonio abortion clinic closed. \u201cIt was a very poorly run facility, as are all Whole Woman\u2019s Health providers in Texas,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/3snpdc2ba9m5uwuk62n8cs84-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Whole-Womans-Health-of-San-Antonio-002_Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most recent health inspection reports<\/a>\u00a0were very troubling, showing the [provider] was unable to keep track of its narcotics properly.
