And, it\u2019s something that Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation need to be held accountable for because this isn\u2019t a fair proceeding right now when an outside third party corporation \u2014 two of them, Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation \u2014 are allowed to come in and try and just take over a prosecution as if it\u2019s any other lawsuit. Hite of the Superior Court in San Francisco <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/judge-decides-david-daleidens-14-accusers-will-remain-secret-in-case\">ruled<\/a>\u00a0that the 14 \u201csecret\u201d pro-abortion \u201cDoes\u201d named as accusers in 15 criminal charges brought against Daleiden and co-defendant Sandra Merritt in 2017 would remain sealed during the case.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"article-image full-width\" data-location=\"7\">\n<div style=\"width: 655px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/images\/made\/images\/local\/David_Daleiden_and_Sandra_Merritt_Feb._11_2019_3_645_430_75.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" width=\"645\" height=\"430\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sandra Merritt and David Daleiden outside Superior Court in San Francisco, California, Feb. 11, 2019 Pete Baklinski \/ LifeSiteNews.com<\/p><\/div><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The hearing was to establish what kind of evidence can be used in the upcoming preliminary hearing. The preliminary hearing will determine if any of the 15 felony charges brought against Daleiden and Merritt have grounds to proceed to a trial.<\/p>\n<p>Daleiden, 30, is the undercover journalist and director of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) who in 2015 released grisly videos (watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLyt2n9xSnURgTg6MxV4R6TOE4MHYHNEz3\">here<\/a>) exposing Planned Parenthood\u2019s illegal harvesting and sale for profit of body parts from aborted babies.<\/p>\n<p>The groundbreaking undercover videos showed Planned Parenthood executives and workers haggling over the prices of baby body parts, picking through bloodied arms and legs of aborted babies in a pie tray, and discussing how to alter abortion methods to obtain better body parts for sale.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"article-image full-width\" data-location=\"10\">\n<div style=\"width: 655px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/images\/made\/images\/local\/David_Daleiden_Feb._11_2019_3_645_430_75.jpg\" alt=\"Image\" width=\"645\" height=\"430\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">David Daleiden and legal team outside Superior Court in San Francisco, California, Feb. 11, 2019 Pete Baklinski \/ LifeSiteNews.com<\/p><\/div><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Public outrage over the videos prompted congressional hearings and calls for the federal defunding of Planned Parenthood. Because of the damning evidence found in those videos, the CMP director now finds himself under attack by the abortion industry. The abortion industry is seeking\u00a0to permanently bury the videos and put Daleiden and Merritt behind bars on charges that they illegally recorded \u201cconfidential communications\u201d under California\u2019s anti-eavesdropping law.<\/p>\n<p>California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced in March\u00a02017\u00a0that Daleiden and Merritt were criminally charged with 14 felony counts of illegal recordings under Penal Code section 632, and a 15th count of conspiracy to violate section 632. They were charged despite evidence that the video recordings were made in public places, such as restaurants and conference halls, where it would be a stretch to expect\u00a0\u201cconfidentiality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most states allow secret recording with only the consent of one party, but California is a\u00a0\u201ctwo-party consent state.\u201d Local journalists regularly use undercover recordings in California, Daleiden contends, but are not prosecuted for it.<\/p>\n<p>The 14 individuals Daleiden captured in the videos as giving damning evidence of the abortion industry\u2019s involvement in the sale of aborted baby body parts were named in the felony charges against the whistleblower anonymously, being listed in <em>People of the State of California vs. David Robert Daleiden, Sandra Merritt<\/em> as \u201cDoes\u201d\u00a01 through 14.\u00a0The names have been publicly available on the internet since 2017 and can be easily found through online searches.
