Here are three of those most frequently asked questions below with some bullet point answers:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u201cIf abortion were illegal, wouldn&#8217;t women still have abortions illegally, resulting in thousands of\u00a0 deaths?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE FACTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abortion deaths prior to <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> were deliberately\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/thousands-women-werent-dying-abortion\/\">over-inflated to garner support for decriminalizing abortion<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In\u00a0<strong>1972<\/strong>, the year prior to <em>Roe<\/em>, the Centers for Disease Control\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/preview\/mmwrhtml\/00041486.htm#00001660.htm\">reported<\/a>\u00a0just 39\u00a0<strong>illegal<\/strong>\u00a0abortion deaths and 24\u00a0<strong>legal<\/strong>\u00a0procedure deaths. By 1973, 19 deaths were attributed to <strong>illegal<\/strong> abortion procedures and 25 from <strong>legal<\/strong> abortions.<\/li>\n<li>Today, legal abortion is <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-safe-read-fine-print\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sold<\/a> as a &#8220;safe&#8221; procedure; recent deaths are almost never reported by the media.<\/li>\n<li>Live Action News has documented several cases of women who have died in recent years from legal abortion, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/brother-woman-died-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cree Erwin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/autopsy-report-points-to-planned-parenthoods-negligence-in-tonya-reaves-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tonya Reave<\/a>s, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lakisha-wilsons-abortion-death-preventable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lakisha Wilson<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lawsuit-abortionists-unm-abortion-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keisha Marie Atkins<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-facility-killed-injured-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diamond Williams<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/these-7-young-women-died-from-late-term-abortions-but-they-didnt-have-to\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">others<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Recent national reports touting the &#8220;safety&#8221; of abortion have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2018\/03\/abortion-safety-statistics-study-ignores-risks-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">funded<\/a> by pro-abortion, pro-population control groups, including (according to an analysis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2018\/03\/abortion-safety-statistics-study-ignores-risks-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> by National Review) &#8220;the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/exposed-conflicts-interest-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Packard Foundation<\/a> and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, which have given sizable grants to Planned Parenthood.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Early abortions, committed using the abortion pill regimen, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/first-trimester-works-abortion-pill\/\">hold potentially serious risks<\/a>, even including death.\u00a0The abortion pill has <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-safety-myth-women-deserve-know-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-safety-myth-women-deserve-know-truth\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590684372270000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHTvhewAK2wwN_AdFzAfZ70c257oA\">four times<\/a> the amount of abortion complications according to a practice bulletin from the strongly pro-choice\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acog.org\/clinical\/clinical-guidance\/practice-bulletin\/articles\/2014\/03\/medical-management-of-first-trimester-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.acog.org\/clinical\/clinical-guidance\/practice-bulletin\/articles\/2014\/03\/medical-management-of-first-trimester-abortion&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590684372270000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGMQMFPdw3oQoBtdZD3nM-KnUT3KA\">American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>As <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-safety-myth-women-deserve-know-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-safety-myth-women-deserve-know-truth\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590684372270000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHTvhewAK2wwN_AdFzAfZ70c257oA\">previously<\/a> reported, the first of the two drugs typically given for a chemical abortion has a black box warning about the possibility of severe infection or uncontrolled bleeding. And yet, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpands.org\/vol24no4\/skop.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.jpands.org\/vol24no4\/skop.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590684372270000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH27MBYeI5yxcz7Qmx5KUIuPMcTkQ\">2016 review by the FDA<\/a>\u00a0resulted in the pill being allowed up to 10 weeks gestational age instead of seven weeks, a removal of the requirement for a followup visit to make sure that the abortion was complete, and a removal of the requirement to report complications\u00a0<em>unless they result in the woman\u2019s death<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/women-die-abortion-pill-fda-generic\/\">report<\/a> from the FDA found that 24 women who took the abortion pill regimen died and a thousand had serious complications which warranted hospitalization.<\/li>\n<li>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2018\/03\/abortion-safety-statistics-study-ignores-risks-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">researchers<\/a>\u00a0Dr. <a class=\"author article-header__meta-author\" title=\"Posts by Michael J. New\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/author\/michael-j-new\/\" rel=\"author\">Michael J. New<\/a> and Dr.\u00a0<a class=\"author article-header__meta-author\" title=\"Posts by Donna Harrison\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/author\/donna-harrison\/\" rel=\"author\">Donna Harrison<\/a>, &#8220;A\u00a02015\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/greenjournal\/Fulltext\/2015\/01000\/Incidence_of_Emergency_Department_Visits_and.29.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a>\u00a0of abortion safety in California, based on comprehensive and reliable data from Medicaid billing records rather than surveys, found that medical abortions resulted in four times the complication rate of first-trimester surgical abortions.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Pro-life counselors outside abortion facilities, including <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-planned-parenthood-killing-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>, report abortion-related\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/women-injured-late-term-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emergencies<\/a>\u00a0regularly. Ambulance\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-facility-killed-injured-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transports<\/a>\u00a0of abortion patients are among the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/?s=ambulance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. A comparison is not valid if it uses different denominators. Additionally, of the four numbers, only the number of live births is accurately known, due to mandated birth certificates. Yet, only two-thirds of maternal deaths are related to live birth&#8230; It is estimated that 50% of maternal deaths\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/15727980\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/15727980\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1590684372270000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFJ7p9a3X6EYi0PYS_2SUm00RSpsQ\">are not reported<\/a>\u00a0as such on death certificates, and the number is undoubtedly much higher for deaths related to abortion&#8230; Chemical abortions (the abortion pill) are often assumed to be safer, but the risk of complications is\u00a0<em><strong>four times greater<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0than with surgical abortions. Not coincidentally, they are also 370% more likely to end their pregnancies in abortion. Abortion clinics often target poor and minority women, as racism and eugenics are common motivations for pro-choice advocates.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Although states may voluntarily report abortion-related deaths, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/how-dangerous-abortion-pill\/\">there are no federal requirements<\/a> to report abortion-related complications or deaths.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CDC <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/reproductivehealth\/maternalinfanthealth\/pregnancy-mortality-surveillance-system.htm#how\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">defines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a maternal death as &#8220;the death of a woman while pregnant <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <strong>within 1 year of the end of a pregnancy<\/strong>&#8230;.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>According to Clarke D.
