After a grueling few days which featured a contentious defense of a brutal pro-abortion bill, the release of a medical school yearbook featuring a racially offensive photo, and an admission that he has appeared in blackface in the past, many are calling for the resignation of Governor Ralph Northam — including abortion industry leader Planned Parenthood<\/a>. If the Governor resigns, Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax would be the next Governor of Virginia. But if this occurs, it is possible that Virginians could be in an even worse situation with regard to pro-abortion extremism.<\/p>\n

Described as \u201ccharming,\u201d \u201cenergetic,\u201d and \u201ca rising star<\/a>\u201d in glowing op-eds<\/a>, both recent and older<\/a>, Justin Fairfax is an ambitious individual from Northern Virginia, who first ran for public office in 2013 and won the Lieutenant Governor race in 2017, during which he received an\u00a0endorsement from Planned Parenthood<\/a>. As part of a statement on International Women\u2019s Day<\/a>, Fairfax identified himself as \u201cVice-Chair of Planned Parenthood Metropolitan Washington Action Fund,\u201d and suggested that abortion \u201cempowered\u201d women. Fairfax was called “our champion” by Planned Parenthood, which wrote prior to the elections<\/a>, “Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia is honored to endorse Ralph Northam for Governor, Justin Fairfax for Lieutenant Governor and Mark Herring for Attorney General.”<\/p>\n

Fairfax is on record slamming Virginia\u2019s 2012 ultrasound legislation, known as the\u00a0\u201cRight to Know and See Act,\u201d\u00a0the aim of which was to ensure that\u00a0all women in early pregnancy seeking an abortion have an ultrasound with the screen facing them so they have an opportunity to view it<\/a> — a common-sense informed consent measure. When this bill, previously introduced in the state legislature by his opponent, was brought up<\/a>, Fairfax called the bill “the invasive ultrasound bill that forces women to have invasive ultrasounds […] I can\u2019t think of a more intrusive thing that a government can do….” Opponents of such legislation frequently ignore the fact that ultrasound is considered by many<\/a>\u00a0to be standard procedure\u00a0before an abortion — so common that even Planned Parenthood mentions it<\/a> — so the gestational age can be obtained by the abortionist and an ectopic pregnancy can be ruled out.<\/p>\n
