Planned Parenthood cheers late term abortion measures<\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s recent\u00a0enthusiastic support<\/a>\u00a0for late-term abortion measures in Virginia and New York mirrors its support for partial-birth abortion in 2004, when then-president Gloria Feldt applauded a court decision ruling that a federal ban on partial-birth abortion (a gruesome procedure in which a second or third trimester preborn child is removed feet first from the womb, while the head remains in the birth canal and the brain is suctioned out through the back of the skull) was unconstitutional. Feldt\u00a0spoke to<\/a> CNN, calling the ban on such a procedure “a brazen affront to women’s health”:<\/p>\n

The abortion ban is a brazen affront to women’s health, the right to medical privacy and the U.S. Constitution and was rightfully struck down. This ruling is a critical step toward ensuring that women and doctors — not politicians — can make private, personal health care decisions.<\/em><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood opposes abortion restrictions<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an August 2016\u00a0interview<\/a>, former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards told the Washington Post, \u201cWe need to challenge or repeal every single [abortion] restriction that\u2019s out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood even\u00a0opposes<\/a>\u00a020-week abortion bans. Richards claims in the tweet below that banning abortion at 20 weeks is “unpopular.” The truth is that\u00a075 percent of adults (including 61 percent identifying as pro-choice) want abortion restricted<\/a> to the first three months (first trimester) of pregnancy, according to recent polls.<\/p>\n

Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson claims Planned Parenthood referred “healthy babies” for these late-term abortion procedures,\u00a0writing<\/a>:<\/p>\n

According to several former late term abortion clinic workers who have come through my organization\u00a0And Then There Were None<\/a>, approximately 50% of 3rd trimester abortions are performed on healthy babies. In my own personal experience, we often referred women to late-term abortion providers who were pregnant with healthy babies, but they wanted the abortion because they had either just broken up with the baby\u2019s father, lost their job, or something similar….<\/em><\/p>\n

Do elective abortions take place through the 9th month of pregnancy? The unfortunate and horrifying answer is yes. We must work to end these barbaric practices and truly care for mothers and their children.<\/em><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood commits abortions at and after viability<\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood has no qualms committing<\/a> abortions after viability, even though its former president\u00a0falsely claimed<\/a> they didn’t provide them.\u00a0Abortion is offered up to 24 weeks at Planned Parenthood affiliates in several locations in\u00a0New York<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0California.<\/a><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood in San Bernardino County<\/a>\u00a0charges between $470 and $2600 for an\u00a0abortion — with the higher price likely correlating to the limit of “24 weeks.”<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s support for late-term abortion dates back years<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1990, Nicki Nichols Gamble, executive director of the Massachusetts state office of Planned Parenthood, described a late-term abortion proposal, which Planned Parenthood helped to draft, as a “fairly moderate one,” according to the Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr. James Koch\u00a0told<\/a> the Boston Globe<\/a> that the Planned Parenthood board voted<\/a> unanimously for the amendment of abortions at any time in the pregnancy. Opposing the measure was Planned Parenthood abortionist, Dr. Stanton Goldstein, who was clear about his reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m against this referendum as it legalizes abortion up to delivery,\u201d Goldstein told the Boston Globe, \u201cI cannot think of a single reason for aborting a healthy baby,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He then\u00a0asked<\/a>, \u2033If the number of abortions performed after the second trimester is so \u2018tiny\u2019 then why are we legislating for it? Is it so \u2018tiny\u2019 because it has not been legal up till now?\u2033<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood has an abortion mission. Its plan<\/a> for 2019 is\u00a0to “expand abortion.” Their new president Leana Wen called<\/a> abortion their “core mission.” Their plan is a reboot of previous\u00a0strategies<\/a>\u00a0laid out since the\u00a01970\u2019s<\/a>, when Planned Parenthood first began committing abortions. It calls for similar measures to those proposed in New York and Virginia.<\/p>\n

In 2016, former president Cecile Richards was asked<\/a> by\u00a0Doug Wagner of\u00a0WHO Newsradio in Iowa<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cAt what point does that child – or\u00a0that unborn person, fetus \u2013 whatever you want to call it \u2013 at what point does that baby get the constitutional rights?\u201d Richards, replied: \u201cWell, I don\u2019t really, actually \u2013 I don\u2019t know that there\u2019s an exact answer for that.\u00a0… [U]ntil a pregnancy is viable [women] have the right to make that decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 1997,\u00a0Faye Wattleton, then-president of Planned Parenthood allegedly\u00a0admitted<\/a> to\u00a0Ms. Magazine,\u00a0<\/em>\u201cI think we have deluded ourselves into believing that people don\u2019t know that abortion is killing. So any pretense that abortion is not killing is a signal of our ambivalence, a signal that we cannot say yes, it kills a fetus, but it is the woman\u2019s body, and therefore ultimately her choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s Arizona political arm<\/a>\u00a0later\u00a0quoted<\/a>\u00a0Wattleton: \u201cThe [most] significant erosion is this court\u2019s willingness to uphold a law that could\u00a0ignore a woman\u2019s health in making the decision to permit a late-term abortion. Because in\u00a0Roe v. Wade\u00a0the court said that a woman\u2019s health and life always had to be preeminent….\u201d<\/p>\n
