Anthony List <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBAList\/status\/1057986489278185477\">announced<\/a> that Facebook censored an ad in support of pro-life Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R- Tenn.). Blackburn is currently leading in the polls in a tight race with Phil Bredesen for a U.S. Senate seat.<\/p>\n<p>The ad, which can be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBAList\/status\/1057986489278185477\">viewed<\/a> in full on Twitter, contrasts Bredesen\u2019s pro-abortion views with Blackburn\u2019s proven pro-life record. Anthony List (@SBAList) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBAList\/status\/1057986489278185477?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 1, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Blackburn said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VoteMarsha\/status\/1058005340019671040\">statement<\/a> about the censorship, \u201cFacebook\u2019s decision to take down this ad is just another example of the liberal elites of Silicon Valley censoring conservative ideas online. We have repeatedly seen a demonstrated bias against conservatives and it needs to stop.\u201d She added, \u201cThe SBA List has a record of principled leadership on pro-life issues, and it is an honor to have their support in my race for the United States Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several prominent pro-life groups have had their ads censored by social media platforms, and Live Action has been instrumental in calling attention to this <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lila-rose-tucker-carlson-twitter\/\">issue<\/a>. This is also not the first time Blackburn has experienced censorship for pro-life speech on social media.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/twitter-shut-down-marsha-blackburns-campaign-video-because-it-referenced-the-baby-body-parts-scandal\/\">READ: <em>Twitter agrees to lift ban on pro-life campaign ad after backlash<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last year, when Blackburn announced her campaign for Senate, Twitter removed an ad in which Blackburn <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/twitter-shut-down-marsha-blackburns-campaign-video-because-it-referenced-the-baby-body-parts-scandal\/\">stated<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cI am 100% pro-life. I fought Planned Parenthood, and we stopped the sale of baby body parts, thank God.\u201d\u00a0After public backlash from pro-life and some pro-abortion pundits alike, Twitter reversed the decision and allowed the ads to run.<\/p>\n<p>In the current controversy with Facebook, SBA List is calling attention to Facebook\u2019s Sheryl Sandberg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBAList\/status\/1057987176359714818\">claim<\/a> that Facebook, unlike Twitter, would <em>not<\/em> censor pro-life speech. At the time, Sandberg said, \u201cWhen you cut off speech for one person, you cut off speech for all people,\u201d which is precisely why Live Action and other groups are urging Facebook to reverse the ban. Voters deserve to know the candidates&#8217; views on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>SBA list and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomCottonAR\/status\/1057993600192204800\">pro-lifers on Twitter<\/a> are urging people to share the ad to combat Facebook\u2019s censorship.
