When they landed in Dubbo, located in New South Wales, they were greeted by a group of fans eager to meet the two &#8212; but it was one little fan with Down syndrome who has stolen not only the royals&#8217; hearts, but the hearts of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p>There was a line of schoolchildren waiting to greet Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, who took their time to speak with each of them. Getty photographer Cameron Spencer, who was there with the royal couple, explained <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/a23867022\/prince-harry-meghan-markle-dubbo-australia-hugging-child-photo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">what happened next<\/a>. &#8220;At the end of the long queue was young Luke Vincent,&#8221; he said. &#8220;He embraced Prince Harry with the warmest affectionate hug, and then did the same with Meghan. It was a special moment, the newly announced parents-to-be appeared emotional, and it was a real, candid, unexpected encounter that sums up why the royals are so popular with people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vincent inadvertently broke royal protocol by touching the royals, but they hugged him back, and Prince Harry allowed him to stroke his beard and pat his head, smiling and holding his waist as he did.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fabcnews.au%2Fvideos%2F247125959486931%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=476\" width=\"476\" height=\"476\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vincent&#8217;s principle explained that <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/royals\/boy-stroked-prince-harry-beard-dubbo-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he loved Santa Claus<\/a>, which is why he was so fascinated with Prince Harry&#8217;s beard. \u201cLuke\u2019s thing is Santa Claus,\u201d Anne van Dartel said in an interview with People. \u201cAnd so as soon as he saw it [Harry\u2019s beard], we went into the panic mode because he\u2019s touching a member of the royal family! And he continued to do it. And he hugged him. So what you and I can\u2019t get away with, my beautiful friend can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-protect-defend-down-syndrome\/\">READ: <em>Trump: We have a &#8216;duty to protect and defend&#8217; lives of people with Down syndrome<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She added that Prince Harry was relaxed and welcoming towards Vincent&#8217;s affections. \u201cHe said \u2018Hello young man.\u2019 And Luke just said, \u2018Hello Harry.\u2019 And Prince Harry graciously realized that his language is limited,&#8221; she recounted. &#8220;And he introduced him to his wife and said, \u2018She would love a cuddle too.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Luke will you please give my wife a hug as well?\u2019 So young Luke handed flowers to the duchess and then she said, \u2018I would love a cuddle\u2019 so in he went. And then he went back to Harry and then gave him another big cuddle. The man with a beard. And that is him. That is the beauty of Luke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fhrhduchessofsussex%2Fposts%2F1148258955349332&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"781\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She also explained that Vincent didn&#8217;t realize that he was meeting a prince. \u201cHe just thinks he met a nice man today. Who had a lovely beard. Luke\u2019s a man of very few words, but very lovely actions. What he can\u2019t express in his words, he expresses in his actions,\u201d she said. \u201cI was explaining to Prince Harry about Luke\u2019s infatuation with beards and Santa Claus and he just laughed and said, \u2018How wonderful.\u2019 So he introduced him to his wife. She said something along the lines of \u2018Oh, what a beautiful little boy.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The moment with Vincent has people around the world awestruck, but it has particularly struck a chord with Down syndrome families.
