They are accompanied by quotes from the subjects offering a window into their personal lives. The project began in New York City, but last month Stanton\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scoopempire.com\/humans-of-new-york-founder-is-coming-to-cairo-and-he-needs-your-help\/\">took a trip to Cairo<\/a>\u00a0to collect Egyptian perspectives and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/humansofnewyork\/photos\/a.102107073196735\/2525780554162696\/?type=3&amp;theater\">Monday entry<\/a>\u00a0depicted a father and his fifth son, Ibrahim, who has an unspecified special-needs condition. \u201cI love him a little more because he needs it a little more,\u201d he explained. Doctors recommended an abortion, which he \u201cwouldn\u2019t hear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was only three pounds when he was born. He needed half a liter of milk per day. I\u2019d skip my own breakfast just to buy it for him,\u201d the father recalls. \u201cI took him to nurseries when he was very young because I wanted him to be comfortable with other children. I found a charity that offered speech classes, and I took him five days a week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man is happy to give Ibrahim, who is his \u201cwhole world,\u201d \u201canything that I have,\u201d but fears for a future when he\u2019s no longer there to do so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post-title entry-title left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/post-abortive-woman-tells-the-world-of-her-sadness-through-humans-of-new-york\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong>READ: Post-abortive woman tells the world of her sadness through Humans of New York<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m getting old. I had a major heart episode two weeks ago. I collapsed in the street and all I could think about was him,\u201d Ibrahim\u2019s father reveals. \u201cMy wife can&#8217;t support him alone, and I\u2019m afraid other people won\u2019t be as nice to him. If someone makes him angry, he\u2019s very difficult to control. But I have patience. I\u2019ll hold him. I\u2019ll pat him on the shoulder. I\u2019ll do whatever he needs. I just hope he&#8217;ll always have someone to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The story elicited more than 1,800 responses, with many people offering words of support and sharing similar fears and experiences of their own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the mother of a special needs child I felt this deep in my soul,\u201d one woman commented. \u201cI can never die [because] I can\u2019t leave my son alone. I fear all the same things. Who will care for him and understand him like I do. It\u2019s such an immense fear I live with daily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/LAN-donate.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-158231\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/LAN-donate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One man suggested that Ibrahim\u2019s four brothers will or should take on the responsibility. \u201cI understand as a brother and someone who will have that responsibility one day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have three sons and my middle child has autism. One day my older son who is only 6 says to me \u2018momma, please don\u2019t worry about Rey bear when you get really old and die I\u2019ll make sure to take care of him, just make sure you\u2019re old okay?\u2019\u201d another woman shared.
