\u201cDon\u2019t like abortion? Don\u2019t have one!\u201d screams an avid abortion supporter. I’ve heard this too many times to count, and you know what? It makes absolutely no sense. Think about it:<\/p>\n

By telling me \u201cdon\u2019t like it, don\u2019t do it,\u201d you\u00a0assume<\/em>\u00a0that I care only about myself, and that I shouldn\u2019t care about what happens to other people. You\u2019re saying I have\u00a0no right<\/em>\u00a0to defend my unborn brothers and sisters who are being aborted. You\u2019re saying I have\u00a0no right<\/em>\u00a0to defend mothers who are being lied to. You\u2019re saying I have\u00a0no right<\/em>\u00a0to defend fathers who cannot stop the death of their children. Does that make sense? No, I didn’t think so.<\/p>\n

Say I lived before the Civil War in the Southern United States. My neighbors owned slaves, and I\u00a0couldn’t\u00a0stand people being treated as if they were not human. I believed that slavery was wrong. Well, \u201cdon\u2019t like it, don\u2019t do it,\u201d right? I\u2019m not the one hurting people!<\/p>\n

Say I lived during the Holocaust in the middle of Europe. The\u00a0Nazis\u00a0captured and killed Jews (and other \u201cundesirable\u201d people), and I couldn\u2019t stand the thought of people being treated as if they were not human. I believed that killing people was wrong. Well, \u201cdon\u2019t like it, don\u2019t do it,\u201d huh? I\u2019m not the one killing people!<\/p>\n

Fast-forward to modern time. I live in America. Abortionists perform around 4,000 abortions on babies every single day in my homeland, and I can\u2019t stand people being treated as if they were not human. I believe that aborting babies is wrong. Well, \u201cdon\u2019t like it, don\u2019t do it,\u201d right? I\u2019m not the one aborting babies!<\/p>\n

Since I\u2019m not the one aborting babies, it’s okay for other people to do it, right?\u00a0Wrong. Just because I\u2019m<\/em> not the one committing the injustice does not change the fact that killing is intrinsically wrong. It doesn’t change the fact that other people are committing abortions. Opinions don’t matter when it comes to life and death, and it doesn’t matter if you “like” abortion because whether you like it or not, abortion kills babies, and that’s a fact. It can’t be changed.<\/p>\n

Part of my motivation as an active pro-lifer is stopping the injustice being taken out on unborn children. Unlike Holocaust victims and slaves, they can’t be seen. They can’t be heard. People say if we “don’t like it, don’t do it,” but that’s not enough. I will never have an abortion, but I will stand up and defend my brothers and sisters from being aborted, and from being hurt by abortion. Do I have a right to do that? I mean, why would we do that? We’re not the ones being hurt and killed, so why should we stop other people from having and performing abortions?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you why. It\u2019s rather simple, actually. We should stand up for victims and against perpetrators of\u00a0any<\/em>\u00a0injustice because we are human. We fought for our brothers and sisters to be freed from other injustices because they deserved their freedom and dignity as human persons. Are the victims of abortion any less worthy of our blood, sweat, and tears just because we\u2019re not the ones having or performing abortions?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
