Here is a list of several more whose names should be known and remembered for their work on behalf of women and their preborn children:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fannie Lou Hamer\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hamer was a\u00a0civil rights activist who helped to found the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. In 1964, she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/retropolis\/wp\/2017\/10\/06\/civil-rights-crusader-fannie-lou-hamer-defied-men-and-presidents-who-tried-to-silence-her\/?utm_term=.13266d12c5e7\">ran for Congress<\/a>. Hamer was also a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theradiancefoundation.org\/voting-rights-activist-fannie-lou-hamer-called-abortion-genocide\/\">victim<\/a>\u00a0of eugenic sterilization, a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maafa21.com\/\">program<\/a>\u00a0which Planned Parenthood\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-connections-to-eugenics\/\">founder<\/a>\u00a0(as well as those on her board) advocated.<\/p>\n<p>A 1969 article published by the Free-Lance Star quotes Hamer as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/newspapers?nid=1298&amp;dat=19691220&amp;id=QjVWAAAAIBAJ&amp;sjid=_OcDAAAAIBAJ&amp;pg=4997,1171778&amp;hl=en\">denouncing<\/a>\u00a0voluntary abortion as \u201clegalized murder,\u201d saying she \u201cmade it clear that she \u2018regards it part of a comprehensive white man\u2019s plot to exterminate the black population of the United States.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_174314\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<div id=\"attachment_174314\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-174314\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-174314 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Fannie-Lou-Hamer-64.jpg\" alt=\"Fannie Lou Hamer pro-life women\" width=\"400\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Fannie-Lou-Hamer-64.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Fannie-Lou-Hamer-64-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-174314\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fannie Lou Hamer<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The following pro-life women leaders were so horrified about abortion that they went on to begin major pro-life organizations:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Mildred F. She was also the co-founder of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), serving as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UB3o-QazcNg\">president<\/a>\u00a0from 1975-1978.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jefferson was committed to defending human life from, as she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AARHhuV1IxQ\">described<\/a>\u00a0it, \u201cconception to natural death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theradiancefoundation.org\/trailblazer\/\">once<\/a>\u00a0described why she became a physician, saying, \u201cI became a physician in order to help save lives. I am at once a physician, a citizen, and a woman, and I am not willing to stand aside and allow the concept of expendable human lives to turn this great land of ours into just another exclusive reservation where only the perfect, the privileged, and the planned have the right to live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nxefrRccsbI\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jefferson also warned that abortion would target the Black community, and in 1977, she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/newspapers?nid=1144&amp;dat=19771024&amp;id=inkqAAAAIBAJ&amp;sjid=8FcEAAAAIBAJ&amp;pg=5449,4960140\">stated<\/a>, \u201cBlacks suffer more from abortion because what looks like help is actually striking against them. Blacks are fewer. They will disappear sooner\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_176522\" style=\"width: 271px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-176522\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-176522 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/dr-mildred-jefferson-on-rich-abortion.jpg\" alt=\"Mildred Jefferson abortion Black genocide pro-life women\" width=\"261\" height=\"299\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-176522\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mildred Jefferson: Abortion is Black genocide<\/p><\/div>\n<p>At a press conference in 1989, Dr. Jefferson\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?7052-1\/pro-life-women-news-conference\">noted<\/a>\u00a0how the abortion lobby uses the poor to maintain abortion access.\u00a0At that press conference, Dr. Jefferson joined with other pro-life women to release a declaration supporting life, stating that abortion is \u201cnot only genocide\u201d but \u201cnational suicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jefferson <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-pro-life-women-abortion-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criticized<\/a> the women&#8217;s movement for being unwilling to look at the facts surrounding abortion, &#8220;for most of the organizations, of the general women\u2019s organizations that support that point of view [abortion] there has never been any kind of real in depth discussion of such issues\u2026. We have an idea that N.O.W., the National Organization of Some Women, in alliance with the other alphabet organizations \u2014\u00a0<em>ACLU, PP, NARAL \u2014\u00a0<\/em>are in deadly collusion to obtain the private right to kill all having the direct objective of establishing a socialist order, to replace our Democratic Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/quotes-that-prove-the-early-feminists-were-pro-life\/\">7 feminists who were pro-life<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Denise Cocciolone and\u00a0Anne McCracken<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_176082\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-176082\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-176082 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Denise-Cocciolone-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Denise-Cocciolone-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Denise-Cocciolone-500x380.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Denise-Cocciolone.jpg 558w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-176082\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Denise Cocciolone<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 1970, Denise Cocciolone began a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1stwaylifecenter.com\/about-us\/\">movement<\/a> to offer pregnant women free services to assist mothers and their preborn children.\u00a0Years later Cocciolone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?291560-1\/march-life-rally\">told<\/a> an audience at the 2010 March for Life, &#8220;There has always been help for these women, even before <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>&#8230;. We predate <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> by three years. We started our service in 1970.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It isn&#8217;t enough to say that abortion is the easy out and stop there,&#8221; she stated. &#8220;There are alternatives&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 1972, while visiting the New Jersey Office of Birthright, where Cocciolone began, the New York Times <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1972\/06\/11\/archives\/abortion-opponents-active.html\">spoke<\/a> with one of Cocciolone&#8217;s volunteers, a former Peace Corpsman and mother of two, Anne McCracken.<\/p>\n<p>McCracken told the New York Times, &#8220;Suddenly I realized, here I am protesting wars and killing, while 25,000 babies were [legally] aborted in New York, 30 miles away in three months.\u00a0What a death rate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nellie Gray<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_176325\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-176325\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-176325\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Nellie-Grey-300x204.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Nellie-Grey-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Nellie-Grey-500x340.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Nellie-Grey.jpg 635w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-176325\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nellie Gray<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3p0HKfJl-HI\">Nellie Gray<\/a>, who passed away in 2012, was a Democrat who served in the Women\u2019s Army Corps during World War II. She was so against legalized abortion that, in 1973, she quit her job as\u00a0a Labor Department lawyer to organize annual marches in D.C., which we know today as the March for Life.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/08\/16\/us\/nellie-gray-anti-abortion-activist-dies-at-88.html\">New York Times<\/a>, Gray told a TV interviewer,\u00a0&#8220;It was such a shock to think that anyone would kill an innocent human being.&#8221;\u00a0To allow abortion, she said, was out of character for a nation that had recently passed civil rights laws and helped at the Nuremberg trials to convict Nazis of the crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/marchforlife.org\/women-of-the-pro-life-movement-nellie-gray\/\">Bethany Goodman<\/a>, Nellie and the early March for Life Committee also lobbied on behalf of the unborn on Capitol Hill, advocating for a Human Life Amendment. Gray held a consistent life ethic and defended all preborn children, even those conceived in rape.\u00a0\u201cCan you overcome this aggravated assault by killing a baby?\u201d she said in an interview with The Washington Post. \u201cThe United States Supreme Court has said that in a case of aggravated rape, capital punishment is cruel and unusual punishment. Then why would you want to visit that punishment on a pre-born child?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gray has often been referred to as the \u201cJoan of Arc\u201d of the pro-life movement, and vowed to continue marching until the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beverly LaHaye<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_176326\" style=\"width: 205px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-176326\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-176326 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/beverly_lahaye.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"195\" height=\"240\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-176326\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beverly Lahaye<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 1978, Concerned Women for America (CWA) founder Beverly LaHaye watched a television interview of Betty Friedan, founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW), and decided to found her own pro-life, pro-family organization. LaHaye wanted to disprove the false idea that Friedan and NOW spoke for the majority of women in America.<\/p>\n<p>In less than a few years, CWA boasted over 100,000 members.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being one of the largest women&#8217;s group&#8217;s in the nation, the media regularly touts NOW as the spokespersons for all women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveactionnewsonline\/\">\u201cLike\u201d Live Action News on Facebook<\/a> for more pro-life news and commentary!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Though you wouldn&#8217;t know it from the media and abortion industry narratives, many feminists over the years have been pro-life.
