(Pregnancy Help News<\/a>) Once again, the American Medical Association has forfeited its authority on medical ethics to the dictates of the abortion lobby.<\/p>\n

In an article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association<\/em><\/a> (JAMA) this July, pregnancy help centers are confusingly maligned as ideologically driven institutions that are simultaneously \u201cdangerous\u201d and ineffective at providing help to pregnant women.<\/p>\n

Using abortionists (of all people) to pontificate on medical ethics, the article sets out to prove its title\u2014\u201cAt \u2018Crisis Pregnancy Centers,\u2019 Critics say, Ideology Trumps Evidence\u201d\u2014but ends up revealing its own ideologically driven agenda instead.<\/p>\n

The Pro-abortion Bubble<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the one hand, its sources\u2014which are limited to abortionists and pro-choice researchers\u2014castigate the work of pregnancy centers as \u201cunethical,\u201d \u201cdangerous,\u201d \u201chaphazard,\u201d and even \u201ccrappy.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the article concludes that pregnancy centers are essentially powerless and ineffective at helping women in need, leaving one to wonder how harmful they can really be.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t found anybody who was certain they wanted an abortion and walked out [of a CPC] saying, \u2018No, I\u2019m going to continue the pregnancy,\u2019\u201d said medical sociologist Katrina Kimport of the abortion advocacy group, Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health. \u201cWe\u2019re just not finding evidence that [CPCs are] playing a significant role in women\u2019s decision-making.\u201d<\/p>\n

Really? Not one woman has ever changed her mind about having an abortion thanks to a pro-life pregnancy center? That\u2019s a tall claim.<\/p>\n

Not only does this audacious statement undermine the apocalyptic theory that pregnancy centers are\u2014to quote the Huffington Post\u2014 \u201cdangerous as hell<\/a>,\u201d it also illuminates the stunningly dense political bubble in which this academic has carefully encased herself.<\/p>\n

According to a report released by the Charlotte Lozier Institute<\/a> this week, pregnancy help centers served nearly 2 million women, men, and youth in 2017 alone.<\/p>\n

But rather than consider the millions of nuanced stories\u2014triumphant and heartbreaking alike\u2014that are surely contained within that vast figure, Kimport defers to her own assumptions and biases about a movement that she clearly knows nothing about.<\/p>\n

Minds Changed, Lives Saved<\/strong><\/p>\n

And those are just the successful stories.<\/p>\n

Though JAMA\u2019s July article wrongly dismisses the protocol as \u201cdisproven,\u201d a medical study shows that about 67 percent of Abortion Pill Reversal attempts are successful. Another third, sadly, will end in a completed abortion\u2014a lost child.<\/p>\n
