In the Bronx, New York, a woman at Dr. Emily’s Health Center, an abortion clinic, was sent to the hospital a few weeks ago after a botched abortion. This is not the only problem facing the clinic. There has also been a charge filed against the clinic for illegal dumping.<\/p>\n

Such complaints had been suspected and filed back in December 2011 and January 2012, when pro-life activists discovered that trash from the clinic was on the public sidewalk and coming out of the dumpster. The trash contained infectious waste and patient information. The case has not come to light until recently though because the clinic had been tipped off; the trash was moved and not seen by the Sanitation Department and the case was closed. But recent events have finally brought a case forward again against Dr. Emily’s.<\/p>\n

Investigators went through the trash which was discovered and opened by pro-life activists. Found in the trash bags were bloody human tissue remains, other bloody refuse, and documents and other information on patients and medical procedures performed on them, as well as drug-related paraphernalia.<\/p>\n

Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, which filed the complaints against Dr. Emily’s Women’s Health Center, has spoken about the case, and information can be found about this on the organization’s website.<\/a>\u00a0Also mentioned by Newman is that a ruling was to be expected within two to three weeks from when the case was heard. This means hat a ruling will hopefully be out within a week. Fortunately, this clinic has also lost its accreditation with the pint Commission for Office Based Surgery. “Dr. Emily’s abortion clinic is a repeat offender that has demonstrated a disregard for the law and public safety. Bloody remains from aborted babies, used needles, and other dangerous material were dumped on a public sidewalk in a predominantly residential neighborhood. People that care about public safety do not engage in that kind of appalling behavior. Add that the botched abortion incident on June 12, and we have a dangerous abortion clinic that must be heavily fined and closed. We anxiously await the court’s decision and pray it is one that will permanently protect the public from Dr. Emily’s shoddy abortion practices.”<\/p>\n

Fordham University, where I spent my three years as an undergraduate, is only a short distance from Dr. Emily’s. I went down as a prayerful witness on a few occasions. The feel I received from the clinic was one of being a sad\u00a0\u00a0place for women and dangerous for their unborn children, I do not doubt that such instances of illegal dumping occurred.<\/p>\n

Clinic escorts were never happy about our presence, even when we remained a legal distance away. Clinic escorts made comments claiming that pro-lifers present there were liars and told girls walking away that they would likely just abort anyway, but by themselves at home. While witnesses and sidewalk always maintained a dedicated attitude, the women who went in and out of the clinic exuded very sorrowful presences, some even walking funny as they left. The clinic itself, as well as some of its workers, exuded a much more dark and frightening presence.<\/p>\n

As not only a pro-lifer, but also someone who has been to and seen this clinic, I feel that it is most imperative that such a place as this, which will engage in illegal activity and a botched abortion, needs to be exposed and shut down. The lives of women and their unborn children depend on it. To repeat what Troy Newman said, “[p]eople that care about public safety do not engage in that kind of appalling behavior.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
