{"id":185257,"date":"2018-07-10T18:43:50","date_gmt":"2018-07-10T23:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=185257"},"modified":"2018-07-16T12:04:54","modified_gmt":"2018-07-16T17:04:54","slug":"planned-parenthood-indiana-permanently-closes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-indiana-permanently-closes\/","title":{"rendered":"VICTORY: Planned Parenthood of Indiana permanently closes Fort Wayne facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Visitors to the Planned Parenthood facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wane.com\/news\/local-news\/fort-wayne-planned-parenthood-closing-cites-intimidation-by-right-to-life\/1291563260https:\/\/www.wane.com\/news\/local-news\/fort-wayne-planned-parenthood-closing-cites-intimidation-by-right-to-life\/1291563260\">find this sign on the door<\/a>: &#8220;This health center is permanently closed.&#8221;\u00a0Planned Parenthood has been telling news outlets that the closure came as a result of &#8220;intimidation and harassment of patients, providers, and supporters,&#8221; but the facts indicate something much more basic: Planned Parenthood and its abortion practice were simply losing support in the community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2bdZu9W5ZUM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-citizens-pro-life-groups\/\">READ:<\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-citizens-pro-life-groups\/\"> When a notorious abortion chain came to town, these citizens stepped up with peaceful action<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the Fort Wayne facility did not commit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\">abortion<\/a>, this was likely not from a lack of desire on Planned Parenthood&#8217;s part.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the medical community of Fort Wayne has largely chosen not to ally with abortionists. In 2013, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/indiana-abortionist-on-hiatus-after-local-doc-pulls-support-due-to-failure-to-report-child-sex-abuse\/\">Ulrich Klopfer<\/a>, who committed abortions at another facility in Fort Wayne, had to stop when a local doctor decided to end his partnership with Klopfer. Indiana law required that &#8220;doctors practicing but not residing in the county [] have a relationship with a local doctor who can legally practice in Allen County.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The doctor ended his relationship with Klopfer due to the abortionist&#8217;s failure to report child sexual abuse that had been perpetrated on girls who came to him for abortions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The problem of failure to report the sexual abuse of minor girls has not been isolated to Klopfer or even to Fort Wayne. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ichooselife.org\/irtl-june20pr\/\">Allen County Right to Life reports<\/a> that <em>four<\/em> Planned Parenthood locations in Indiana employ abortionists with consumer complaints filed against them:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Forty-eight consumer complaints have been filed against nine Indiana abortion doctors<\/strong> who have allegedly failed to follow the legal reporting requirements to protect young children from sex abuse. The doctors are: Jeffrey Glazer, Caitlin Bernard, Cassandra Cashman, Carol Dellinger, Mandy Gittler, Kathleen Glover, Martin Haskell, Resad Pasic and Sarah Turner. They are employed at all licensed Indiana abortion facilities: Women\u2019s Med Center in Indianapolis, Clinic for Women in Indianapolis, and Planned Parenthood in Indianapolis, Lafayette, Bloomington and Merrillville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of the girls under 16 years old who had abortions that weren\u2019t reported to DCS were as young as 12 and 13. The alleged 48 instances of failure to report occurred since July 1, 2017.<\/strong> The 48 consumer complaints have been filed with Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill and the Indiana State Department of Health. The Marion, Lake, Tippecanoe and Monroe county prosecutors have also been notified.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to these <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/indiana-abortionists-sexual-abuse-victims\/\">complaints of bad behavior related to the treatment of minor girls<\/a>, multiple Planned Parenthood facilities in Indiana have been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/\">investigated<\/a>\u00a0by Live Action. Staff at the facilities were found covering up the sexual abuse of minors, giving violent and possibly illegal sex advice to minors, spreading medical misinformation to women who asked about abortion, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/abortioncorporation\/\">failing to offer a full range of services for pregnant women in need<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/indiana-whole-womans-health\/\">READ: <em>Indiana Department of Health denies license to notorious abortion chain<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, while Planned Parenthood prefers to blame its facility closure on pro-lifers in various communities, the fact is that Planned Parenthood is operating under a business model where it continues to close down facilities that are not bringing in enough money. Instead of remaining in areas where the abortion corporation claims women need to be served, Planned Parenthood closes down when its profit margins are reduced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZDHyy9yCerg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Allen County Right to Life&#8217;s executive director told local news station Channel 15, &#8220;We believe Planned Parenthood&#8217;s closure is due to its dwindling customer base in Indiana and its unpopularity in the greater Fort Wayne community. Planned Parenthood&#8217;s accusation that intimidation by Right to Life led to this closure is simply untrue and smacks of an attempt by Planned Parenthood to turn its business woes into a fundraiser.&#8221; Moreover, Channel\u00a015 reported that its news team &#8220;learned that Planned Parenthood had been looking for a new location because the lease was on a month to month basis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is further indication that the blame Planned Parenthood seeks to place on &#8220;intimidation&#8221; is less than honest. Instead, American women, families, and communities are waking up to &#8212; and rejecting &#8212; the reality of Planned Parenthood&#8217;s business model: abortion on demand, no matter what it costs
