When Adair objected, she was scolded and told that the victims were better off with <a href=\"http:\/\/abortionprocedures.com\">abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;d be girls coming in with their abusers&#8230;. Even if I went to the manager and I said, look, there\u2019s something going on here, she would say, \u2018She\u2019s better off with the abortions. We can\u2019t do anything about what\u2019s going on at home but at least we can give her the abortion.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-journalists-ignore-sexual-abuse\/\">READ: <em>Planned Parenthood awards journalists who ignore their sexual abuse scandals<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monica Cline, a former HIV health educator and Title X training manager, observed Planned Parenthood&#8217;s work first hand:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I was teaching on human trafficking and statutory rape, and was telling Planned Parenthood staff of Corpus Christi and the Gulf Coast, basically, you\u2019ve got to report when you see a girl coming in with an older man that you can tell is not her father. You know something\u2019s wrong, you\u2019ve got to report that; it\u2019s considered human trafficking. It is also considered statutory rape; you\u2019ve got to report this. What\u2019s going on here?\u2019 And the response was, \u2018<strong>Honey, if she\u2019s not having sex with this man this week she\u2019ll have another one next week<\/strong>.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Think about that response for a moment. If what Cline is <a href=\"https:\/\/events.iteleseminar.com\/?eventID=102040878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saying<\/a> is correct, victims of sexual abuse are seen by this abortion corporation as simply promiscuous and in need of abortions and birth control, rather than protection from sexual predators. And that is exactly what\u00a0Cline went on to <a href=\"https:\/\/events.iteleseminar.com\/?eventID=102040878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">describe<\/a>, noting that, in her opinion, Planned Parenthood sees potential victims of child sexual abuse in a &#8220;distorted&#8221; way (emphasis added):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And so their view of our children is distorted. It\u2019s dehumanized. I don\u2019t know why their hearts are hardened, but they are. And so when a girl or a young man goes there for an abortion, or condoms or testing, they don\u2019t see them with compassion anymore, if they ever did. Um, <em><strong>they see them as just, almost like an animal who can\u2019t control themselves<\/strong><\/em>;\u00a0they&#8217;re always gonna have sex so we\u2019re just going to give them enough lube and condoms and hope they come in to get tested before they get some kind of cancer. They\u2019re not gonna stop statutory rape.<\/p>\n<p>Um, one of the things that they even mentioned was, they adopted [a] don\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell [policy]&#8230;. If we don\u2019t ask how old her partner is, we don\u2019t have to tell. And so, Planned Parenthood actually allows victims of human trafficking to continue to be victims of human trafficking. And they\u2019re okay with that. I went back to my office and I told my supervisor, like &#8212; listen, I\u2019m trying to teach them about key concepts on <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/regulation-remove-title-x-funding-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Title X<\/a>; they\u2019re admitting that they\u2019re not gonna report cases of statutory rape.<\/p>\n<p>The response from my supervisor was, &#8220;Your job is to teach them key concepts, and that\u2019s it.&#8221; She was really upset with me that I challenged that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Former Planned Parenthood manager Sue Thayer stated that Planned Parenthood was more concerned about potential &#8220;trouble&#8221; from the victim&#8217;s family or boyfriend than they were about the victim. Thayer told Live Action, &#8220;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We were all required to be mandatory reporters, but if we saw a case&#8230; uh&#8230; questionable abuse, or even for sure &#8212; I mean, this kid is being abused &#8211; um, we really were discouraged from calling it in, just because, uh, they didn\u2019t want to have the trouble, the angry parent, uh, the angry boyfriend, whatever it was. She described an Asian girl who came to Planned Parenthood with a very controlling man who even talked for the girl. The girl described living in a place with many other young women, little food, and little clothing. Victims themselves have pointed out Planned Parenthood&#8217;s willingness to be complicit in sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>One victim&#8217;s story, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feministsforlife.org\/incest-and-the-abortion-clinic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a>\u00a0anonymously by Feminists for Life, claims that when she was abused at the age of 12 by both an older brother and a college-age friend of the family, Planned Parenthood&#8217;s only concern was how often she was having intercourse, not who may have impregnated her:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[M]y older brother took me to Planned Parenthood&#8230;. The whole visit was terrifying. No one explained anything. I was examined, gave urine and blood samples, and shown a chart of an egg going around a big circle marked by days of the month. I was asked questions like, \u201cfrequency of intercourse?\u201d and \u201cmethod of birth control preferred?\u201d I did not know what intercourse meant, so I just said \u201ca lot,\u201d and I had no idea what methods of birth control existed. No one asked who my \u201cpartner\u201d was; no one expressed any dismay, concern, or even interest that a 12-year-old girl needed a pregnancy test. I heard a lot about \u201cbeing responsible\u201d and \u201ctaking control of my body.<\/p>\n<p>Someone gave me a handful of condoms on the way out and made a joke about it being an assortment \u2014 red, blue, and yellow. The yellow ones were called Tinglers. I stuffed them in my purse and threw them away later.<\/p>\n<p>My older brother maintained a strong silence throughout the entire time \u2014 no one asked him a single question.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The victim claims that she ended up starting her period and did not keep the abortion appointment. In addition, she states that the sexual abuse ended only after one predator moved away and the older brother set his sights on other victims from the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, this girl&#8217;s abuse &#8212; and many other victims&#8217; abuse &#8212; may have been prevented if Planned Parenthood had bothered to ask about potential abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action&#8217;s Lila Rose stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/planned-parenthood-ignores-child-sex-abuse-victims-amidst-me-too-times-up-and-proposed-title-x-regulations-demanding-reporting-of-abuse\/\">press release<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Despite Planned Parenthood\u2019s public rhetoric as well as laws requiring it to report suspected abuse, its failure to report has been deliberate and widespread. Time and again, rather than reporting abuse to authorities, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly looked the other way and performed abortions on victims as young as 12 years old. These girls deserved advocacy but instead Planned Parenthood staff ignored their abuse and returned them to the waiting arms of their abusers.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Because of flagrant violations like these, the proposed Title X rule tightening on reporting abuse is absolutely necessary. Planned Parenthood has proven that its priority is selling abortions, not caring for the most vulnerable of girls. Planned Parenthood\u2019s culture of cover-up must end, the cycle of abuse of innocent children must end, and Planned Parenthood\u2019s half a billion dollars in annual federal funding must end. Taxpayers cannot be forced to subsidize these abuses of children.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action is releasing this report as the Time\u2019s Up movement is exposing both sexual abusers and those who help them cover up their crimes \u2014 the people who knew about the abuse but stayed silent.
