In a statement on the USCCB website an overview of the campaign is presented:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The fourteen days from June 21\u2014the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More\u2014to July 4, Independence Day, are dedicated to this \u201cfortnight for freedom\u201d\u2014a great hymn of prayer for our country. Our liturgical calendar celebrates a series of great martyrs who remained faithful in the face of persecution by political power\u2014St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More, St. John the Baptist, SS. Peter and Paul, and the First Martyrs of the Church of Rome.\u00a0 Culminating on Independence Day, this special period of <a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/religious-liberty\/fortnight-for-freedom\/fortnight-freedom-prayer-resources.cfm\">prayer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/religious-liberty\/fortnight-for-freedom\/fortnight-for-freedom-reflections.cfm\">study<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/religious-liberty\/fortnight-for-freedom\/fortnight-freedom-educational-resources.cfm\">catechesis<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/religious-liberty\/fortnight-for-freedom\/fortnight-freedom-take-action.cfm\">public action <\/a>will emphasize both our Christian and American heritage of liberty. <a href=\"http:\/\/usccb.org\/issues-and-action\/religious-liberty\/fortnight-for-freedom\/fortnight-freedom-diocesan-activities.cfm\">Dioceses and parishes around the country<\/a> have scheduled special events that support a great national campaign of teaching and witness for religious liberty.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The pro-religious freedom organization <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholicvote.org\">Catholic Vote<\/a> has released a video promoting the Fortnight event:<br \/>\n[youtube http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qKlRen8yzaw]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking out against the abortion mandate in the PPACA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":66,"featured_media":18217,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.7 -
