In August 2017, Live Action News reported<\/a> on the death of Kiesha Marie Atkins, who died at age 23 after receiving an abortion<\/a> from late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd of Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was believed to have been at least six months pregnant. As was noted at the time of our report, an autopsy concluded that the cause of death was “pulmonary thromboembolism due to pregnancy,” instead of abortion — something pro-life groups believed to be an inaccurate determination.<\/p>\n

Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico filed a complaint<\/a> with the New Mexico Medical Board and,\u00a0on\u00a0March 2, 2018, the Board responded by\u00a0letter<\/a>, stating that it would do “further formal review to determine whether the licensee [Boyd] is in violation of the Medical Practices Act.”<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> Operation Rescue:<\/p>\n

Shaver… obtained Adkin\u2019s autopsy report<\/a>\u00a0along with a CAD printout of a 911 call<\/a> placed by SWO on February 7, 2017 \u2013 the date of Adkin\u2019s death. In consultation with Operation Rescue, it was found that both documents raised serious questions about the mishandling of Adkin\u2019s medical emergency, and suspicions of an attempted cover-up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Life Site News notes<\/a> that Atkins reported for her abortion on January 31, 2017, and “[w]hen she returned to the facility on February 3, she displayed labored breathing and signs of sepsis, a systemic, life-threatening infection,” adding that the autopsy report shows she was set to begin labor to deliver her stillborn baby. Her child would have received an injection of a feticide days before to stop his or her heart. Former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino explains in the video below:<\/p>\n
