The South Dakota senate has passed a bill<\/a> that would require abortionists to tell women considering abortion<\/a> that the procedure will “terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being” and that it carries the risk of depression and suicidal thoughts for women. The bill will now be sent to Gov. Dennis Daugaard, who is expected to sign it into law. In the state House of Representatives, the bill passed by a vote of 56-9.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood<\/a> abortionists and staffers are also accused of violating the state’s existing informed consent laws by prefacing the statements with “Politicians in the State of South Dakota require us to tell you.” \u201cThe idea that you would preface a disclosure with, \u2018politicians tell us to tell you these things,\u2019 is antithetical to the purpose and the effectiveness of disclosures,\u201d Rep. Steven Haugaard, the author of the bill, said to a committee earlier this month. \u201cThese aren\u2019t simply words dictated by the state. This is an effort to convey truth to an individual who is in a very serious situation.”<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood is, unsurprisingly, furious about the bill. “This bill goes beyond what we have ever seen before from politicians opposed to abortion in the state,” Sarah Stoesz, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, said. “It attempts to make an extreme law \u2014 one that does not exist anywhere else in the country and has already been declared likely unconstitutional \u2014 even more extreme.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Planned Parenthood and their partners in the abortion<\/a> industry oppose informed consent laws, but Americans strongly support them<\/a>. And it’s not difficult to see why. The abortion industry is known to lie to women, giving them inaccurate information<\/a> about the development of preborn children in an effort to deny their humanity<\/a>.<\/p>\n
