(May 2, 2017) \u2013 Pro-abortion members of Congress have been telling the American people for years that Planned Parenthood desperately needs hundreds of millions in taxpayer funding to provide health services like prenatal care and mammograms. But Live Action investigators posing as pregnant women have contacted Planned Parenthood and can\u2019t find the health care politicians had promised them.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RJjSPsVuS8g?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Live Action\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/RJjSPsVuS8g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">latest video<\/a> features politicians like Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Hillary Clinton, and Rep. Joe Kennedy misleading the American people about the services their tax dollars are funding at Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>For example, as early as 2011, Sen. Patty Murray was using prenatal services and mammograms to make her funding case to Congress: &#8220;Planned Parenthood is about providing federal funds for care like mammograms and cervical cancer screenings and prenatal care and family support and counseling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The problem is that prenatal care <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/defund-debate-hits-live-action-exposes-planned-parenthoods-prenatal-care-deception\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">is not even offered<\/a> at most Planned Parenthood facilities and Planned Parenthood has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/mammogram-falsehoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">never<\/a> performed mammograms<\/p>\n<p>That didn\u2019t stop Sen. Ron Wyden in 2015 from stating that &#8220;prenatal services&#8221; would be &#8220;gone&#8221; if Congress defunded Planned Parenthood.\u00a0Feinstein and others made similar claims that year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For years, Planned Parenthood supporters in Congress have touted services that are declining, virtually nonexistent, or were never even offered at the abortion group to justify it receiving half a billion dollars from taxpayers every year. In this latest report, Live Action shows Planned Parenthood&#8217;s own employees debunking the myths that these politicians have told about Planned Parenthood,&#8221; said Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Live Action released another <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/planned-parenthood-defund-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video investigation<\/a> analyzing Planned Parenthood&#8217;s own annual reports for the last 10 years that showed services like breast exams and Pap tests down 60 and 77 percent, respectively, while abortions are up 27 percent and taxpayer funding has more than doubled to $553 million in a year. Client numbers have also declined from three million in 2011 to 2.5 million in 2017, despite the increase in tax funding.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact that Planned Parenthood&#8217;s clients are decreasing and its cancer screenings are down by large numbers while abortions are up 27 percent is more evidence that the corporation&#8217;s focus is abortion, not women&#8217;s health care,\u201d Rose said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We urge Congress to use the current 2017 budget reconciliation bill to end the taxpayer subsidizing of Planned Parenthood immediately.
