Crystal Eldridge, former Planned Parenthood manager<\/p><\/div>\n

When Crystal Eldridge was hired as the health center manager for the Winston-Salem Planned Parenthood<\/a> in North Carolina, she was a single mom\u2026 and a Christian. But because she had a great financial need, she took the job, against her conscience.\u00a0\u201cI never thought I\u2019d ever make that kind of money,\u201d Crystal told Live Action News. \u201cMy mom is very sick and she cannot work, and my dad has everything piled on him, and they\u2019re struggling. I knew if I could make that kind of money, I could support my family and my mom and dad and make everybody\u2019s life better\u2026. So I basically, to be honest\u2026 I sold out for money. When I went [to Planned Parenthood], I felt torn because I knew that\u2019s not what I believed in at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Crystal, Planned Parenthood pays \u201cexceptionally well and there are perks. I had a $500 monthly allowance, they paid my cell phone bill and I made 70 grand.\u201d And of course, when attending conferences, it was only the finest hotels for the duration of the stay. All of these perks and the pay made it hard to leave, Crystal said. \u201cA lot of women now are single moms and every dime helps. And when you land a job like that, that you never thought you\u2019d have monetarily speaking, it is hard to walk away because you don\u2019t know what\u2019s gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Crystal says there\u2019s a reason Planned Parenthood treats their employees this way. \u201cThey pay well because it takes a part of your soul<\/em>. It really does. That\u2019s why. You couldn\u2019t pay me to go back there. I would never go back there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taking the Bait<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though Planned Parenthood claims to be about women’s health,\u00a0Crystal told Live Action News that Planned Parenthood offers services like birth control and STD treatments and screenings \u201cfor the wrong reasons. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re doing it for women\u2019s health and men\u2019s health. I think they do it to gain trust from the women,” she said, adding that the idea of low-cost or free birth control lures women in.<\/p>\n

“Most… are young women, unmarried women\u201d who are sexually active with a high likelihood of becoming pregnant, Crystal said, and when the birth control fails, \u201cBoom, there\u2019s another $475 in [Planned Parenthood\u2019s] pocket a few months later. You know, what\u2019s a $5 bottle of pills when you\u2019re gonna make close to $500 [from an abortion] in a couple months?\u201d<\/p>\n

And that was the cost for a first trimester abortion<\/a>, Crystal said, regardless of whether a woman had a surgical or medical (abortion pill<\/a>) abortion. (Incidentally, medical abortions can be reversed<\/a>, but that’s something Planned Parenthood refuses to tell women<\/a>.) \u201cIt was $475 no matter what, across the board, at the Winston-Salem location, but it was more in Chapel Hill because Chapel Hill [Planned Parenthood] does later terms\u201d up to 19 weeks and 6 days.<\/p>\n
