{"id":175982,"date":"2017-12-07T14:54:42","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T19:54:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=175982"},"modified":"2017-12-11T00:55:22","modified_gmt":"2017-12-11T05:55:22","slug":"late-term-abortions-healthy-babies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/late-term-abortions-healthy-babies\/","title":{"rendered":"Caught on tape: Late-term abortions done on healthy moms and babies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Two new undercover phone calls have been released by Priests for Life and Abortion-Free New Mexico as part of an awareness project involving late-term <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortions<\/a>, in addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.priestsforlife.org\/LateTermAbortion\/listen.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calls already released<\/a> from abortion facilities around the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call #1<\/strong>: On Wednesday, a call was released from Summit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, a late-term facility which commits abortions through 24 weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CtTq34Sn-Sw\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The caller tells the staffer that she wants an abortion at 22 weeks pregnant. She is told that it is a two-day procedure, with a cost of $2,300 &#8212; and the abortion can be done, even though there is ostensibly nothing wrong with the mother or baby.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis phone call says it all,\u201d Father Frank Pavone said. \u201cThe caller specifically asks if the procedure can be done at 22 weeks even if she and her baby are healthy. Yes, the clinic worker says, it\u2019s \u2018voluntary.\u2019 Yet so many of our fellow citizens do not believe this is happening. When they do realize it\u2019s happening, we can mobilize both pro-life and pro-choice people to help stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The abortion industry considers abortions performed at 20 weeks of pregnancy and beyond to be &#8216;late term.\u2019 This admission was revealed over the course of this investigation by the receptionist of Pro-Choice Medical which is run by the infamous late-term abortionist Josepha Seletz in Beverly Hills, CA,&#8221; Tara Shaver, of Abortion-Free New Mexico, explained. \u201c&#8230; [T]his investigation debunks the myth that these barbaric abortions are primarily being obtained by women with pregnancy-related health complications.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Eighty percent of American women support this reasonable legislation,&#8221; Shaver noted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call #2<\/strong>: The second call, released today, was from Presidential Women&#8217;s Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, which commits abortions up through 22.5 weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qtApjgjn9RI\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The caller tells the staffer that she is 22 weeks pregnant, and the staffer says the abortion process will take three days. Like the previous call in Michigan, the caller is told that nothing needs to be wrong with the baby for her to have the abortion &#8212; and that the mother <em>must<\/em> be healthy to have the abortion. The caller is also pressured to act quickly, because her time is running out. The cost of the abortion would be $3,650.<\/p>\n<p>Father Frank Pavone released a statement about the call:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Pro-abortion extremists demand that late-term abortions must remain legal in America for women whose lives are placed at risk if they don&#8217;t have access to them. This undercover investigation turns the tables on this pro-abortion fear mongering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, in this new undercover phone call placed to Presidential Women&#8217;s Center in West Palm Beach, FL, the abortion worker tells the caller that a pre-screening is done before obtaining a late-term abortion at 22 weeks. The screening, however, is not to determine what life-threatening complication mandates the procedure; instead the abortion staffer reveals, &#8216;We want to make sure you&#8217;re healthy, that&#8217;s why we do the screening.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the caller then specifically asks, &#8216;There doesn&#8217;t have to be anything wrong with the baby?&#8217; to obtain the abortion, she is given an emphatic &#8216;No.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fr. Pavone encourages readers to contact their U.S. Senators and ask them to vote for the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.<\/p>\n<p>As explained by former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino, second-trimester abortions are violent and painful for the preborn baby:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>These abortions are committed despite the fact that babies are able to survive when delivered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/babies-born-22-weeks-can-survive-medical-care-new-study-finds-329518\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as early as 22 weeks<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-1380282\/Earliest-surviving-premature-baby-goes-home-parents.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some have survived after being delivered even earlier<\/a>. It has also almost conclusively been determined that preborn babies <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/what-science-says-about-fetal-pain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can feel pain by 20 weeks<\/a>, although some research suggests it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aul.org\/2008\/03\/fetal-pain-legislation-women-deserve-to-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be as early as five weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Previous calls in this undercover investigation revealed that notorious late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-agrees-kill-26-week-old-infant-7000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will kill a 26-week old preborn baby for $7,000<\/a>. A Colorado late-term abortionist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.priestsforlife.org\/latetermabortion\/listen.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agreed to abort a 30-week old preborn baby<\/a>, and an abortion staffer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/late-term-abortion-facility-we-euthanize-babies-in-the-womb-deliver-them-de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said that preborn babies are &#8220;euthanized&#8221;<\/a> and then delivered stillborn.<\/p>\n<p>These investigative calls are vital, as abortion advocates claim that late-term abortions are only done to save the lives of women facing dangerous pregnancies, or so parents can abort their babies who have defects or abnormalities.
