Former employee speaks out about \u201cpizza parties\u201d as reward for hitting abortion sales goals<\/b>

Washington, D.C. (February 7, 2017) \u2013 Today, Live Action released an expos\u00e9<\/span><\/a> featuring eyewitness testimony from two former Planned Parenthood employees \u2013 one a center manager, the other a nurse \u2013 revealing that Planned Parenthood required their facilities to hit monthly sales quotas for the number of abortions they did. The abortion giant also instituted \u201ccorrective action plans\u201d for those facilities that failed to meet the quotas while giving pizza parties and other incentives to those that met them.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood\u2019s Abortion Quotas\u201d<\/a> is the latest video in the series \u201cAbortion Corporation.\u201d<\/a>Prior videos documenting the lack of authentic women\u2019s health care at their centers include: \u201cUltrasounds for Killing, Not Care at Planned Parenthood,\u201d<\/a>\u201cPlanned Parenthood Managers: Ultrasounds for Abortions, Not Care,\u201d<\/a>and \u201cThe Prenatal Care Deception.\u201d<\/a> These videos have received a combined 25 million views on Facebook since the first video launched Jan. 24.<\/p>\n

Live Action is releasing the investigative series as Congress and President Donald Trump plan to redirect over $400 million in Medicaid funding away from Planned Parenthood to thousands of federally qualified local health clinics and as the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act makes its way to the Senate.<\/p>\n

Former Storm Lake, IA, Planned Parenthood manager Sue Thayer revealed in the video that incentives given to employees for reaching abortion sales goals included pizza parties and paid time off. Employees were trained to convince women to have abortions to meet their goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI trained my staff the way that I was trained, which was to really encourage women to choose abortion; to have it at Planned Parenthood, because it counts towards our goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sounds kind of crazy, but pizza is a motivator [for getting abortion numbers up].\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

How Planned Parenthood would pressure financially distressed women into abortions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf they\u2019d say, \u2018I\u2019m not able to pay [my bill] today,\u2019 then we would say something like, \u2018Well, if you can\u2019t pay $10 today, how are you going to take care of a baby? Have you priced diapers? Do you know how much it costs to buy a car seat? Where would you go for help? There\u2019s no place in Storm Lake (or whatever town they were in), you know, where you can get help as a pregnant mom. So really, don\u2019t you think your smartest choice is termination?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood doesn\u2019t have quotas for adoptions. It doesn\u2019t have quotas for prenatal care. But quotas for abortions? Absolutely,\u201d said Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action. \u201cPlanned Parenthood makes a profit off women in the midst of their most difficult experiences and incentivizes its staff to take the lives of children in the womb with pizza parties, paid time off, and lunches with upper management. It\u2019s time to redirect our tax money toward local health clinics that actually provide real care to women, instead of to Planned Parenthood, a corporation focused on upping its abortion numbers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Live Action is investing $500,000 in a digital ad campaign to push the video series out to millions of Americans. Future videos will further expose Planned Parenthood\u2019s lack of health care services and include the testimonies of former Planned Parenthood workers and managers.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Will Planned Parenthood continue its denials of these findings?<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>\u201cI anticipate Planned Parenthood will respond as it usually does by denying the findings of this investigation,\u201d said Rose.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that Planned Parenthood lies repeatedly and misleads the public, as it did during Live Action\u2019s 2011 child sex trafficking expos\u00e9. Three weeks ago, Live Action released public records that show Planned Parenthood failed to report child sex traffickers to local authorities as it had claimed. Planned Parenthood also lied to the New York Times, the Associated Press, and other media outlets about retraining thousands of its staff to identify and report sex traffickers.
