{"id":174426,"date":"2017-11-07T12:51:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-07T17:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=174426"},"modified":"2017-11-08T10:05:16","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T15:05:16","slug":"former-stemexpress-employee-smashes-claim-that-planned-parenthood-had-shipping-costs-for-aborted-baby-body-parts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/former-stemexpress-employee-smashes-claim-that-planned-parenthood-had-shipping-costs-for-aborted-baby-body-parts\/","title":{"rendered":"Former StemExpress employee smashes claim that Planned Parenthood had &#8216;shipping costs&#8217; for aborted baby body parts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>The Center for Medical Progress has released another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uHcU8Nc71sA\">video interview<\/a> with Holly O&#8217;Donnell, a former StemExpress fetal tissue procurement technician who worked with various <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\">Planned Parenthood<\/a> locations to harvest specifically requested <a href=\"http:\/\/abortionprocedures.com\">aborted<\/a> fetal body parts.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, O&#8217;Donnell tells CMP&#8217;s David Daleiden that while Planned Parenthood publicly claims it was simply &#8220;reimbursed&#8221; for shipping and processing costs of aborted fetal body parts, it actually was the tissue procurement company which incurred those costs and handled all processing and shipping &#8212; Planned Parenthood was actually paid per specimen, invoicing StemExpress for each organ that was successfully harvested:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uHcU8Nc71sA\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Donnell previously told Daleiden that this was the case, and she isn&#8217;t the only one to make this claim.<\/p>\n<p>Perrin Larton, the head of procurement for\u00a0Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR), told an undercover David Daleiden <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/its-all-lingo-planned-parenthood-isnt-reimbursed-for-fetal-body-parts\/\">in a previous video<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>(ABR) \u201cWe are totally not involved in the clinical work at all. The clinic does all the consenting. The only thing we do is after procedure we will draw blood from the donating mother if you need serology testing, that\u2019s all we do with the patient\u2026 We\u2019re usually standing right outside the door\u2026 and we\u2019re in the lab area\u2026 <strong>then we get the tissue<\/strong>, doctor makes sure the termination is complete\u2026 <strong>we have it immediately after<\/strong>\u2026.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fWJb78ynVT8\">Full footage,\u00a016:10<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As Live Action News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/its-all-lingo-planned-parenthood-isnt-reimbursed-for-fetal-body-parts\/\">reported<\/a> in September 2015, &#8220;Both ABR and StemExpress have, in their own words, stated that their own technicians are the ones who enter the abortion clinics and perform all tasks aside from patient consenting. (Another procurement company, Novogenix, has actually been mentioned as being involved in the\u00a0consenting of patients as well.)\u00a0These technicians are\u00a0working at the expense of the procurement company.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In CMP&#8217;s most recent video interview with O&#8217;Donnell, above, she says, &#8220;Planned Parenthood never shipped anything, we did all the shipping.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CMP&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2017\/11\/planned-parenthood-had-no-shipping-costs-for-fetal-parts-sales\/\">press release<\/a> for the video notes that at the time the videos were released back in 2015, Planned Parenthood insisted that the money paid to them were simple &#8220;reimbursements&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<strong>There are shipping costs,&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=069Vjy8P-gU\">Dawn Laguens<\/a>, Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President, told CNN\u2019s Alisyn Camerota. &#8220;<strong>It\u2019s not a fee. It\u2019s actually just the cost of transmitting this material to research institutions,&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0said Planned Parenthood CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c2lH45m0dSg\">Cecile Richards<\/a> to ABC\u2019s George Stephanopoulos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But this was a lie:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But <a class=\"fancybox-pdf\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CTPricing.pdf\">invoices<\/a> show that customers paid StemExpress, not Planned Parenthood, for the FedEx shipping. The StemExpress-Planned Parenthood <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2016\/06\/6-key-takeaways-from-planned-parenthood-stemexpress-baby-parts-contracts\/\">contract<\/a>, meanwhile, specifies that the only payments to Planned Parenthood will be per fetal organ &#8220;<strong>determined in the clinic to be useable.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And <em>two Congressional investigations<\/em> support this finding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a class=\"fancybox-pdf\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/StemExpressPPMarMonte_invoicesHECSP.pdf\">Documents<\/a> obtained by two Congressional investigations show that Planned Parenthood could make up to five-figure sums per month from StemExpress, depending on the number of &#8220;<strong>useable&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0fetal organs StemExpress could collect inside Planned Parenthood.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>O&#8217;Donnell agrees, saying that she and other\u00a0fetal procurement technicians were paid for each organ or body part they harvested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Medical Progress has released another video interview with Holly O&#8217;Donnell, a former StemExpress fetal tissue procurement technician who worked with various Planned Parenthood locations to harvest specifically requested aborted fetal body parts.
