A new poll, conducted on October 13, 2017, and commissioned by the Susan B. Anthony List, has reaffirmed the fact that Americans overwhelmingly want to see abortion<\/a> restricted beginning at 20 weeks gestation (approximately five months).<\/p>\n

A press release<\/a> from SBA List specifies that the polling group, McLaughlin & Associates, “conducted the survey of 1,000 likely voters (33% Republicans, 36% Democrats, 31% Independents)” with a \u00b13.1 percent error margin.<\/p>\n

The pollsters posed two questions<\/a> to likely voters, one dealing with the Trump Administration’s decision to roll back Obamacare’s contraception mandate (results: 51% in favor and 36% opposed), and this one: “The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed legislation that would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks, or five months of pregnancy, with exceptions for rape and incest. Do you support or oppose the legislation outlawing most abortions after 20 weeks, or five months of pregnancy?”<\/p>\n

Those in favor were 62.2 percent, with 40.4 percent of those feeling “strongly” in favor. Those opposed were 25.3 percent, with 15.1 percent of those “strongly” opposed.<\/p>\n

Guy Benson from Townhall.com pointed out that while pro-abortion groups continue to paint restricting abortion at 20 weeks as “extreme,” the public largely disagrees with them:<\/p>\n
