Fear. It\u2019s a great motivator. But fear coupled with deception and misstatements can be an even bigger motivator.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood Action Fund has come out with an ad trying to use fear to prevent people from voting for Mitt Romney. Short statements from Romney and his staff are \u201cinterpreted\u201d to let voters know what he really means. The problem is that this is all from Planned Parenthood\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n

Part of the script for the ad states<\/a>:<\/p>\n

When Mitt Romney says, \u201cPlanned Parenthood, we are going to get rid of that. \u201c\u00a0 Romney is saying he\u2019ll deny women the birth control and cancer screenings they depend on.\u201d\u00a0 When Romney says, \u201cDo I believe the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em>\u2014Yes,\u201d he\u2019s saying that he will deny women the right to make their own medical decisions.\u2026\u00a0 Because Mitt Romney is out of touch and wrong for women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s interesting that they never mention abortion specifically in this ad. Nope. It\u2019s all about birth control, cancer screening, and women making medical decisions. The issue isn\u2019t whether or not women should be allowed to make their own medical decisions. Women do make their own medical decisions all the time. And if Planned Parenthood were defunded and Roe v. Wade<\/em> were overturned, women would still be making their own medical decisions. Choosing to let a child live shouldn\u2019t be classified as a \u201cmedical decision\u201d in the first place. We are dealing with people, not decisions.<\/p>\n

According to Fox News<\/a>, \u201c[w]ith the latest ad buy, the Obama campaign can allow Planned Parenthood to wage somewhat of a proxy fight over women’s issues and abortion, allowing the president’s reelection team to focus on Romney’s resume.\u201d<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood obviously wants the candidate who shows the most promise of helping Planned Parenthood’s own agenda and goals. That\u2019s why they are dumping $1.4 million<\/a> into their new video.<\/p>\n

Is Romney out of touch and wrong for women as Planned Parenthood claims? Or is he a threat to the Planned Parenthood empire? I believe it\u2019s the latter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
