{"id":169634,"date":"2017-07-24T22:27:27","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T02:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=169634"},"modified":"2017-07-24T21:33:04","modified_gmt":"2017-07-25T01:33:04","slug":"pregnancy-center-client-confronts-pro-abortion-protesters-i-was-scared-but-he-changed-my-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pregnancy-center-client-confronts-pro-abortion-protesters-i-was-scared-but-he-changed-my-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Pregnancy center client confronts pro-abortion protesters: &#8216;I was scared, but he changed my life&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/watch-pregnancy-center-client-destroys-pro-abortion-fake-clinic-protesters\">Pregnancy Help News<\/a>) \u201cMichael,\u201d whose son, \u201cMarcus,\u201d was rescued through the pro-life Women\u2019s Choice Network in Pittsburgh, Pa., single-handedly derailed a group of pro-abortion activists Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, \u201csingle-handedly\u201d might be an overstatement, since Marcus, his 2-year-old son, was there too, playing a vital role in an exchange caught on video and made public by comedienne Lizz Winstead\u2014the co-creator and former head writer at Comedy Central\u2019s <em>The Daily Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>These days, Winstead is leading a multi-state crusade called \u201cExposing Fake Clinics,\u201d aimed at smearing pregnancy centers online and in person. Pittsburgh was the campaign\u2019s first stop, with Winstead sending in a fake client and her fake boyfriend into a Women\u2019s Choice Network location Monday ahead of the scheduled Tuesday protest.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, it was the fake boyfriend who fielded Michael\u2019s questions. Their exchange was priceless.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/226190832\" width=\"640\" height=\"523\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis little guy wouldn\u2019t be here if not for that [center], you know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d Michael said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey lie to women,\u201d the pro-abortion actor responded. \u201cThey give them all that type of false information about abortion and tell them that it causes breast cancer and then go through all this emotional stuff\u2026 If a woman wants to terminate her pregnancy, that\u2019s her own option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Growing impatient, Michael put his hand on Marcus\u2019 head and cut the actor off mid-sentence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s going on here? What type of demonic stuff they got going on here?\u201d Michael said. \u201cMy son was almost an abortion, but we didn\u2019t have it. He\u2019s here right now\u2014look at him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the pro-abortion actor repeated his rehearsed line about abortion access, Michael picked up his thought and continued to tell his story.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was scared bro, when I first came, I was scared, but he changed my life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It didn\u2019t get any better for the pro-abortion actor, who tried again to portray that pro-life centers such as Women\u2019s Choice Network pose a dangerous threat to women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe changed my life bro,\u201d Michael answered.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Pro-Aborts Spreading the False 411<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Winstead, who posted the live video to her Facebook page Tuesday, was visibly rattled by the exchange. Prior to the confrontation, she and her fellow rally attendees were basking in the glow of what they perceived as a victorious \u201cundercover\u201d visit to a Women\u2019s Choice location from a day earlier.<\/p>\n<p>But her confidence wilted next to a flesh-and-blood testimony of a man and his son whose lives have been so deeply affected by the very pro-life outreach she is leading the charge to oppose.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, just before the actor and the father start their conversation, Winstead is speaking on camera to Gloria, a nurse manager at Women\u2019s Choice Network. After alleging that Women\u2019s Choice Network uses false medical information to bully women into keeping their children, Winstead unleashed a whopper of her own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not risky,\u201d Winstead\u2014who has no medical training whatsoever\u2014asserts. \u201cIt\u2019s easier than getting your wisdom teeth pulled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For its part, Women\u2019s Choice Network, a four-location pregnancy help organization serving Pittsburgh women and families since 1985, are seeing more women and men reached and rescued from abortion than at any point in the life of their ministry.<\/p>\n<p>That success has already led to opposition online as recently as March 2017, when Planned Parenthood staffers <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/pp-google-reviews-feb-2017\">posted a batch of negative reviews<\/a> on Women\u2019s Choice Network\u2019s Google Local listing.<\/p>\n<p>The latest round of opposition comes as part of Winstead\u2019s \u201cExposing Fake Clinics\u201d campaign, which launched Monday and goes through July 26. While it has gained relatively little traction, the campaign&#8217;s intention is to bring down pregnancy centers\u2019 reputation with negative online reviews and <a href=\"https:\/\/exposefakeclinics.squarespace.com\/start-or-join-a-demonstration\/\">scheduled protests<\/a> at pregnancy centers in at least six states.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Scheuring, executive director for Women\u2019s Choice Network, is hosting a conference call through Heartbeat International on Thursday, open to all pregnancy help leaders, to make center directors aware of how they can respond to online and on-site opposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese were people that were paid to be there,\u201d Scheuring said. \u201cThey were playing their part, so what are you going to do with that? This is clearly not about Women\u2019s Choice Network. This is not about a little non-profit here, it\u2019s about a bigger agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Responding to a Truth-less Attack<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>As Winstead and Co. work to malign pregnancy centers online and on-site, leaders in pro-life online marketing are encouraging centers to take a fresh look at their online presence\u2014paying particular attention to their Google Local listing.<\/p>\n<p>Though nothing can be done to prevent a negative review from being posted to Google Local, one or two low ratings can be overcome in a hurry, Extend Web Services\u2019 Tim Stephens said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best offense is a good defense,\u201d Stephens said. \u201cGet as many positive reviews from as many legitimate sources as you possibly can. These sources can be clients, donors, volunteers, or anyone outside of your staff and board members who\u2019ve had a positive experience with your center. These reviews should be posted in the most prominent locations online (Yelp, Google, Yahoo, Facebook).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brad Mandel, president of AdAmerica, also encouraged centers that may be hit with negative online reviews to challenge the review itself, noting that he has seen multiple reviews removed because they violated an online listing policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the review is an obvious fake, you can request Google, Yelp,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/yp.com\/\">Yp.com<\/a>\u00a0or FB to remove the review and in the interim, respond to the review.\u201d Mandel said.\u00a0\u201cThe response from the owner of a listing is meaningful, people read that. \u00a0We recommend getting five good reviews to push down the negative one ASAP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winstead\u2019s campaign against pregnancy centers is nothing new, Heartbeat International president Jor-El Godsey said, though the emergent strategy of hijacking online ratings does represent a unique, potentially dangerous approach to attacking pregnancy help organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBig Abortion was into &#8216;fake news&#8217; long before this current political season,\u201d Godsey said. \u201cThey&#8217;ve lied about the impact of abortion and now they&#8217;re lying about those dedicated to helping women have life-affirming options.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Editor&#8217;s Note: This article was originally published at <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/watch-pregnancy-center-client-destroys-pro-abortion-fake-clinic-protesters\">Pregnancy Help News<\/a> on July 19, 2017, and is reprinted here with permission.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Pregnancy Help News) \u201cMichael,\u201d whose son, \u201cMarcus,\u201d was rescued through the pro-life Women\u2019s Choice Network in Pittsburgh, Pa., single-handedly derailed a group of pro-abortion activists Tuesday.
