For an entire year, the social media giant has been blocking Live Action from purchasing ads to spread facts about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\">abortion<\/a> chain <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>, messages showing that preborn children deserve the right to life, and videos exposing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/liveaction\/videos\/?ref=page_internal\">lies commonly told by the abortion industry.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Twitter asserted that Live Action would need to revamp its entire website, deleting foundational material, or create a brand new website before it would be allowed to advertise. Additionally, Twitter insisted that all tweets calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood, discussing investigations into Planned Parenthood, and showing ultrasound images of preborn children would have to be deleted. These are the only conditions under which Twitter has said its suppression will be lifted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fliveaction%2Fvideos%2F10155407427504785%2F&amp;show_text=1&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"496\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The following tweet from Lila\u2019s account, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\">@LilaGraceRose<\/a>, is one of many that was flagged for violating Twitter\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/support.twitter.com\/articles\/20170425\">hate and sensitive topic policy<\/a>. The tweet is almost word-for-word a Dr. Seuss quote, with pro-life hashtags added on.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Because a person&#8217;s a person, no matter how small. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WhyWeProtest?src=hash\">#WhyWeProtest<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ProtestPP?src=hash\">#ProtestPP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lila Rose (@LilaGraceRose) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/635149333147578368\">August 22, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Among <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-twitter-suppressing\/\">the tweets that Twitter claimed were too &#8220;inflammatory&#8221;<\/a> to be promoted through an ad buy was a Dr. Seuss quote and a famous statement made by Thomas Jefferson, the second U.S. president and author of the Declaration of Independence. The Times reported that Twitter not only\u00a0denied Live Action&#8217;s evidence of bias, but also pointed the news agency to how well Twitter works with Susan B. Anthony List, a politically-focused, pro-life women&#8217;s group.<\/p>\n<p>However, SBA List President Majorie Dannenfelser <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2017\/jun\/27\/twitter-suppresses-messages-criticizing-planned-pa\/\">disagreed<\/a> with Twitter&#8217;s claim, telling The Times that when her group tried to promote a tweet quoting Mother Theresa, their ad buy was denied. SBA List was told that the tweet below &#8220;violated Twitter\u2019s policy <a href=\"https:\/\/support.twitter.com\/adspolicy\/healthcare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prohibiting<\/a>\u00a0&#8216;the promotion of health and pharmaceutical products and services.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Twitter\">@Twitter<\/a> finds this promoted tweet quoting MOTHER TERESA in violation of their standards. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gqCQNuohBF\">pic.twitter.com\/gqCQNuohBF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MarjorieDannenfelser (@marjoriesba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marjoriesba\/status\/839555548857032704\">March 8, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Of course, propping up bias with a redirection of, &#8220;Oh, look over there!&#8221; is never the way to save face or right a wrong. Discrimination against one group is not justified simply on the basis that every group is not discriminated against.
