The video explains\u00a0the concept of fungibility, showing how funding\u00a0sent to Planned Parenthood\u00a0frees up its other dollars &#8212; which can then be used to perform abortions:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgB5E91lD6s\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/yes-your-tax-dollars-fund-abortions-at-planned-parenthood\/\">Part One of the Fungibility Factor series<\/a>, detailed\u00a0how funding\u00a0funneled to Planned Parenthood through the federal family planning program, Title X, funds abortion facilities and their\u00a0staff. Part Two\u00a0will demonstrate\u00a0how some\u00a0contraception offered under Title X is abortifacient, and can therefore,\u00a0in some instances, cause abortions &#8212; which means that abortion is being funded in this way as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planed Parenthood &#8212; Deceptive Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While claiming that tax dollars don&#8217;t pay for abortions, Planned Parenthood fails to point out that in reality, there are circumstances in which tax dollars technically <em>do<\/em> pay for abortions.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/heres-how-your-taxpayer-dollars-are-funding-abortion\/\">Federal Title X dollars<\/a> are sent to the states, and 17 states allow for some level of abortion funding. The federal dollars free up more state money for abortion. In addition, some Planned Parenthood abortionists have been quoted as saying they believe that every abortion sought by a woman is &#8220;medically necessary,&#8221;\u00a0thereby\u00a0qualifying for taxpayer funding under Title X. (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/unearthed-court-docs-planned-parenthood-considers-all-abortions-medically-necessary\/\">Yes, really<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ysl1tRnk-ig\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Title X and Medicaid Funding for Emergency Contraception<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/opa\/sites\/default\/files\/ogc-cleared-final-april.pdf\">Title X funds emergency contraception<\/a>,\u00a0the federal and state governments\u00a0are using tax dollars to fund drugs that have the potential\u00a0to cause abortions.\u00a0In addition, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.princeton.edu\/locator\/concerned-about-cost.html\">Office of Population Research &amp; Association of Reproductive Health Professionals<\/a>\u00a0in a few states, &#8220;Medicaid <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.princeton.edu\/info\/Medicaid.html\">covers<\/a>\u00a0over-the-counter purchases of emergency contraception.&#8221;\u00a0According to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kff.org\/womens-health-policy\/issue-brief\/minimum-contraceptive-coverage-requirements-clarified-by-hhs-guidance\/\">Kaiser Family Foundation<\/a>, the Affordable Care Act also covers emergency contraception at taxpayer expense.<\/p>\n<p>According to a chart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/downloads\/ForConsumers\/ByAudience\/ForWomen\/FreePublications\/UCM517406.pdf\">published<\/a>\u00a0online, a variety of emergency contraceptives &#8212; including the Morning After Pill and Ella &#8212; have been approved by the FDA and are therefore funded under Title X.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is\u00a0Emergency Contraception\u00a0Abortifacient?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acog.org\/-\/media\/Departments\/Government-Relations-and-Outreach\/FactsAreImportantEC.pdf?dmc=1\">argues<\/a>\u00a0that emergency contraception is not abortifacient, labels from the contraception&#8217;s own manufacturers\u00a0show otherwise (as discussed below). In some cases, emergency contraception\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/studies-show-all-forms-of-emergency-contraception-cause-abortion\/\">can act to prevent the implantation of a\u00a0newly-fertilized human being\u00a0into the uterine wall<\/a>. At this point, fertilization has often already occurred.\u00a0Despite the admissions on the manufacturer&#8217;s website and the scientific facts on FDA label, elsewhere, Ellas&#8217; manufacturer assures users that the pill does not cause abortion:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_167046\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-167046\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-167046 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-700x247.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-700x247.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-300x106.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-768x271.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-960x340.jpg 960w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive-500x176.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ella-claims-it-is-not-abortive.jpg 992w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-167046\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ella claims it is not abortive, though its label admits otherwise.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>How can Ella&#8217;s manufacturer claim this? The answer may lie\u00a0in the way &#8220;pregnancy&#8221; and &#8220;conception&#8221; are\u00a0defined &#8212; most notably by the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. As Live Action News&#8217; Calvin Freiburger explains:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In 1965, the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/tag\/acog\/\">heavily-politicized<\/a> American College [sic] of Obstetricians and Gynecologists <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/abortion-birth-control-and-medical-deception\/\">redefined<\/a> \u201cconception,\u201d the start of pregnancy, from the beginning of the child\u2019s existence at fertilization to the point when the embryo is implanted\u2014and they did so not based on science, but at the urging of Planned Parenthood \u201cexperts\u201d who knew the change would make birth control more culturally palatable.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/morning-after-pill-emergency-contraception\">website<\/a>\u00a0agrees with the\u00a0fact that Ella works days after fertilization, sanitizing its\u00a0terms in a video\u00a0which claims\u00a0&#8220;accidents happen.&#8221; The video adds that\u00a0since it can take &#8220;several days for pregnancy to happen after sex,&#8221; emergency contraception is a &#8220;safe way to prevent pregnancy up to five days after unprotected sex.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In other words, several days after fertilization &#8212; when that has occurred &#8212; Ella can prevent the child\u00a0from implanting.\u00a0This causes the death of a developing human being, hence, Ella can cause an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Labeling and manufacturer website information for Plan B (the Morning After Pill) is similar:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_167043\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-167043\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-167043 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Plan-B-Prevents-Implantation-abortion-700x305.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Plan-B-Prevents-Implantation-abortion-700x305.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Plan-B-Prevents-Implantation-abortion-300x131.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Plan-B-Prevents-Implantation-abortion-500x218.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Plan-B-Prevents-Implantation-abortion.jpg 746w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-167043\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plan B Prevents Implantation<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Plan B has the potential to\u00a0prevent implantation of the new human life,\u00a0according to the drug&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/planbonestep.com\/FAQ.aspx\">website.<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"m_-3761897396325002702gmail-accordion m_-3761897396325002702gmail-accordion_expanded\">\n<div class=\"m_-3761897396325002702gmail-accordion_body\">\n<div class=\"m_-3761897396325002702gmail-bodytxt\">\n<p>The FDA&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20181223152217\/https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/Drugs\/EmergencyPreparedness\/BioterrorismandDrugPreparedness\/ucm109795.htm\">website<\/a>\u00a0acknowledges\u00a0what can happen if the Morning After Pill\u00a0is taken after fertilization has occurred:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Plan B works like other birth control pills to prevent pregnancy. Plan B acts primarily by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation). It may prevent the union of sperm and egg (fertilization). <strong>If fertilization does occur, Plan B may prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the womb (implantation)<\/strong>. If a fertilized egg is implanted prior to taking Plan B, Plan B will not work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Women are Given Misinformation About Emergency Contraception<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s already been established that <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a> is not interested in giving women the scientific facts about life in the womb or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\">facts about abortion procedures<\/a> or what might constitute an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>But even the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/opa\/sites\/default\/files\/emergency-contraception-fact-sheet.pdf\">United States Department of Health and Human Services<\/a>, which has recently been turned over to\u00a0pro-life Secretary Tom Price, has perpetuated this deception for years, even directing readers where they can purchase the abortifacient\u00a0drugs. An\u00a0HHS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/opa\/pregnancy-prevention\/hormonal-methods\/emergency-contraception\/index.html\">pamphlet<\/a>\u00a0calls emergency contraception &#8220;birth control&#8221; and makes no mention of its\u00a0potential abortifacient effects, even claiming, &#8220;Emergency contraceptive pills prevent pregnancy and are different from medications which cause abortions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While this is true &#8212; the abortion pill regimen is not the same as emergency contraception, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionpillreversal.com\">the effects of the abortion pill may even be reversed<\/a> &#8212; Ella and Plan B\u00a0(the Morning After Pill) can prevent implantation and stop a new human being from growing and developing, as explained above. Yet, for years, HHS has not made this information easily accessible to women.<\/p>\n<p>For clarification, Live Action News is not claiming that emergency contraception\u00a0functions as an abortifacient every time. But the point is that in some instances &#8212; admitted by the manufacturers themselves &#8212; these drugs have the capability.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0is impossible to know how many of these potential abortions are funded by taxpayers. In 2015 alone, Planned Parenthood distributed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/20170526_annualreport_p02_singles.pdf\">767,830<\/a> emergency contraception kits to its\u00a0clients.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s time to end taxpayer-funded abortion once and for all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Live Action&#8217;s latest video reveals\u00a0how taxpayer dollars are funding Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion corporation in the nation.
