The incest victim tells the staff member that she is just 16 years old and asks if she can get an abortion without her family finding out about the abortion or the incest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m wondering if I can get an abortion even though I&#8217;m under 18 and what my parents have to know about it,&#8221; the caller says. &#8220;I mean I&#8217;ve known I&#8217;ve been pregnant for a while but it was an older family member that did this to me and I really don&#8217;t want them to know that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JB1Dd8MLau8\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The clinic staff member tells the caller about the laws in New Mexico and informs her that she can have an abortion without her parents&#8217; knowledge if she is under 18 years of age and 26 weeks pregnant. Then the staffer tells the caller that an\u00a0abortion will cost $7,500. The girl says she doesn&#8217;t have insurance &#8212; but\u00a0if she were on her parents&#8217; insurance and trying to hide the pregnancy and abuse, she wouldn&#8217;t have been able to use it anyway without her parents&#8217; knowledge. The abortion facility staffer\u00a0tells her the clinic can loan her 20 percent of the cost and advises her to call Medicaid to\u00a0ask for emergency pregnancy Medicaid, which may cover the entire cost of the abortion. It appears the clinic is more concerned with making money than getting actual help for this girl, who could quite possibly be sent straight from the abortion back to her abuser.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This latest undercover call continues to rip the veil off the abortion industry and show our nation what even most &#8216;pro-choice&#8217; people oppose: late term abortion of healthy babies, paid for by taxpayers, and conducted by an industry which provides cover for sexual predators,&#8221; said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. &#8220;What we need to know to end abortion is found in the abortion industry itself. We just need to continue exposing it, and we will.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In New Mexico, a girl or woman can get an abortion for any reason through the third trimester. Parental consent is not required for children to receive abortions. While laws are in place requiring abortion facilities\u00a0to report any suspicion of sexual abuse, facilities\u00a0like this one turn a blind eye. For sexual abusers, the lack of laws surrounding abortion and the unwillingness of clinics to contact authorities makes New Mexico a safe haven for them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPro-life sidewalk counselors have spoken to several minors over the past seven years\u00a0outside of Southwestern Women\u2019s Options; many of them\u00a0came to New Mexico seeking abortions to evade their own states laws,&#8221; explained Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico. &#8220;The reality is that the New Mexico abortion cartel is more concerned about how much money they can make off of selling an abortion, especially lucrative late-term abortions, instead of adhering to the laws that were passed to\u00a0protect minors from sexual abuse. We need enforcement of these laws in New Mexico and for our leaders to make sure that this illegal activity is fully investigated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first abortion facility\u00a0to be caught ignoring sexual abuse. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-failed-report-child-sexual-abuse-decades-part-one\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a> has been under fire numerous times for covering up sexual abuse and protecting rapists.
