On Facebook, his main video has received over 2.8 million views.<\/p>\n<p>Jon, a popular radio personality with Canberra&#8217;s Hit 104.7, explains that he has never met his biological mother, but he\u00a0has a Mother&#8217;s Day <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kidspot.com.au\/parenting\/real-life\/reader-stories\/why-im-scared-to-meet-my-real-mum\">message<\/a> for her: &#8220;Considering all sacrifices and pain my birth mother must have gone though, both physically and emotionally I\u2019d simply like to say thank you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FRyanJonOnline%2Fvideos%2F1903906543162618%2F&amp;show_text=1&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"684\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 1987, when Jon&#8217;s birth mother became pregnant unexpectedly, she was\u00a0living with friends and did not believe she was\u00a0prepared to be a mother.\u00a0Jon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/lifestyle\/parenting\/why-ryan-wants-to-thank-his-birth-mother\/news-story\/ccc6fa5a1a8245f7a68a6062e99ee771\">explained<\/a>, \u201cI don\u2019t really know what it was like in 1987, but now if someone gets pregnant and doesn\u2019t want to have a baby, they just don\u2019t have a baby. The odds of me being born and having great parents was pretty slim, so I\u2019m just lucky I guess.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To be given life by his biological mother, then to be adopted by caring parents, Jon is indeed lucky. Sadly, many mothers in similar situations involving difficult pregnancies and unpredictable circumstances are pushed towards abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, Jon is thankful his mother did not make that choice.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to explain that while he would love to meet his birth mother, to simply tell her thank you, he wonders if she may not want to be found, or if his reappearing in her life may cause her problems. But still, he felt the need to post a &#8220;thank you&#8221; message in time for Mother&#8217;s Day. &#8220;It\u2019s totally fine with me if I never meet her, even if I never know she gets the message,&#8221; said\u00a0Jon.\u00a0&#8220;I\u2019d love for her to know how thankful and I am.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reaction to Jon&#8217;s videos has been overwhelmingly positive, as thousands of commenters on Facebook expressed their own sentiments:<\/p>\n<p>Anna wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What a beautiful tribute and outstanding gesture. As someone trying to adopt to add to or family thank you for giving me the gift of this message.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lindsey shared:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is my first Mothers Day as a mama and it is because of adoption! It took 6 years but we brought our beautiful baby home in December and I thank our birth mom every single day! Adoption is beautiful and is about love from all sides and everyone involved.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Andrea was touched, too, writing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Heartfelt words.
