This week, I came across an interesting post on social media (as I often do). The title grabbed my attention: \u201c12 of The Scariest Documentaries on Netflix Right Now.\u201d Since I\u2019m a sucker for a good documentary, I clicked on this Bustle post<\/a> from January (a little late to the party, I know) and perused the list.<\/p>\n

What I found there left me a little stunned.<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t stunned at the list of documentaries about mass murderers, serial killers, exorcisms, atomic catastrophes, and the like\u2026 but one particular documentary caught my eye. Listed among all of these truly terrifying human tragedies was a documentary called \u201cTrapped,\u201d which is \u201ca different kind of terrifying,\u201d according to Bustle. This particular documentary \u201cshowcases the devastating effects that \u2018pro-life\u2019 policies have had on many of America\u2019s most vulnerable women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, that\u2019s right \u2014 apparently, Bustle finds the idea of not being able to just freely decide to kill one\u2019s preborn child at any time, for any reason, to be \u201cscary.\u201d Like, put-it-on-the-list-with-atomic-bombings scary.<\/p>\n

I have to question whether Bustle was purposely trying to be offensive by grouping history\u2019s most prolific serial killers in the same category as \u201cpro-life policies.\u201d Because, yes, it\u2019s offensive.<\/p>\n

Pro-life laws actually save the lives of women and children<\/a>. Laws requiring abortion facilities to be held to the same health and safety standards as\u2026 oh, say, veterinary clinics\u2026 would seem like common sense. Unfortunately, the abortion industry usually fights and succeeds against such life-saving regulations. \u201cAccess\u201d trumps safety, and women are injured and dying because of it. That is truly scary.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood of St. Louis is on record<\/a> as having sent more than 60 women the the hospital since 2009 \u2014 and that\u2019s just one facility, which is still open and operating.<\/p>\n

Abortionist LeRoy Carhart<\/a> has sent multiple women to the hospital, and has even killed two \u2014 yet he is still allowed to commit abortions.<\/p>\n

Abortionist Lisa Perriera killed Lakisha Wilson<\/a> at Preterm abortion facility in Ohio, and Perriera got to keep her job.<\/p>\n

Abortionist Mandy Gittler killed Tonya Reaves<\/a> at a Planned Parenthood in Chicago<\/a>. Gittler wasn\u2019t fired, either, and continues to commit abortions.<\/p>\n

Karnamaya Mongar died at the hands of now-jailed abortionist Kermit Gosnell<\/a>, whose own negligence and butchery seem to escape him. Gosnell also killed babies accidentally aborted alive by \u201csnipping\u201d their spinal cords after they had fully exited the womb. In other words, he\u2019s a serial killer. (Hmm\u2026 I wonder if Bustle will promote the documentary about him.)<\/p>\n

This is just a short list. There are many, many more examples of subpar facilities that are allowed to operate, risking women\u2019s lives and safety.<\/p>\n

Even the U.S. Supreme Court sent the message (in the Whole Woman\u2019s Health v. Hellerstedt<\/em> decision<\/a> last summer) that being able to kill one\u2019s child is more important than being able to kill one\u2019s child in an environment that doesn\u2019t also risk the woman\u2019s life. Whole Woman\u2019s Health, the plaintiff, has a sickeningly long list<\/a> of health and safety violations and is still allowed to operate.<\/p>\n

You want to know what\u2019s truly scary? The idea that our dogs and cats get better health and safety standards than women entering abortion facilities.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s also scary is the fact that what goes on in an abortion facility isn\u2019t exactly neat and tidy. Children are dismembered there, by suction, and by forceps.<\/p>\n
