Not what they advertise."},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>A new video just released by Live Action emphasizes Planned Parenthood&#8217;s lack of services for pregnant women who need resources to continue their pregnancies, like adoption and prenatal services. When women ask what services are available to pregnant women, abortion is the default answer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/acb1KUESU6M\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-pregnant-women-abortion\/\">part one<\/a> of Live Action News&#8217;\u00a0report on the options (or lack of options) Planned Parenthood offers pregnant women, I\u00a0documented that Planned Parenthood staffers were uninterested in offering callers information about adoption referrals when asked. Callers were not even offered a list of adoption agencies or a chance to speak to trained staff about adoption, despite Planned Parenthood&#8217;s website stating that those things would be made available.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition, I previously noted\u00a0that many of the centers Live Action investigators contacted were funded by the federal family planning program, Title X, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/opa\/sites\/default\/files\/ogc-cleared-final-april.pdf\">requires<\/a>\u00a0counseling on <em>all<\/em> pregnancy options.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_159546\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-159546\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-159546 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Prenatal-care-PP-1996-97-annual-report-300x210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Prenatal-care-PP-1996-97-annual-report-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Prenatal-care-PP-1996-97-annual-report-500x349.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Prenatal-care-PP-1996-97-annual-report.jpg 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-159546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prenatal care PP 1996-97 annual report<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In part two of this series, viewers and readers will see\u00a0that Planned Parenthood&#8217;s attitude toward women seeking prenatal services and ultrasound services is similar to those who seek adoption information from them.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/defund-debate-hits-live-action-exposes-planned-parenthoods-prenatal-care-deception\/\">previous investigation<\/a>\u00a0revealed\u00a0that prenatal care is virtually nonexistent at Planned Parenthood,\u00a0despite politicians and other defenders claiming otherwise. Since the\u00a0release of Live Action\u2019s first investigative <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/defund-debate-hits-live-action-exposes-planned-parenthoods-prenatal-care-deception\/\">video<\/a>\u00a0on that subject, Planned Parenthood has been busy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-purges-prenatal-from-websites-after-live-action-investigation\/\">purging<\/a>\u00a0its\u00a0websites of the term \u201cprenatal,\u201d which was originally shown in bold text at the top of Planned Parenthood locations&#8217; listings.<\/p>\n<p>Oddly enough, at one time, Planned Parenthood suggested that prenatal care was the organization\u2019s \u201cfastest growing area\u201d (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PPFA1996-7-reduced-size.pdf\">1996-1997 annual report<\/a>). But Planned Parenthood\u2019s short-lived initiative to \u201cimplement a comprehensive prenatal care model\u201d appears to have failed.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion is Planned Parenthood\u2019s focus, which might explain why the organization&#8217;s once \u201cfastest growing service\u201d of prenatal care plummeted\u00a044 percent between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/2010-Annual-Affiliate-Service-Census-Report.pdf\">2010<\/a>\u00a0(31,098) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/files\/2114\/5089\/0863\/2014-2015_PPFA_Annual_Report_.pdf\">2014<\/a>\u00a0(17,419). As of 2015, when Planned Parenthood\u2019s prenatal services were nearly cut in half from 2014 numbers (to 9,419), those numbers have now decreased\u00a0<em>70 percent<\/em>\u00a0from what they were in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/pregnant-now-what\">website<\/a>\u00a0acknowledges that if a woman is pregnant, she has three options to consider: &#8220;<a title=\"Thinking About Abortion\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/pregnant-now-what\/thinking-about-abortion\">abortion<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Thinking About Adoption\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/pregnant-now-what\/adoption\">adoption<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Thinking About Parenting\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/pregnant-now-what\/parenting\">parenting<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As was the case regarding adoption, Planned Parenthood&#8217;s website states it\u00a0has &#8220;trained educators&#8221; that can assist pregnant women considering the &#8220;<span class=\"content-block-wrap\"><a title=\"Thinking About Parenting\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/pregnant-now-what\/parenting\">parenting<\/a><\/span>&#8221; option. However, in this section, Planned Parenthood attacks pro-life pregnancy centers, claiming that these thousands of community centers &#8212; which offer all services free of charge &#8212; will &#8220;not give you information about all your options.&#8221; \u00a0The page was recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/considering-parenthood\">updated <\/a>to say &#8220;they\u2019re run by people who are anti-abortion and don\u2019t believe in giving you truthful facts about all of your pregnancy options.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_165414\" style=\"width: 378px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-165414\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-165414\" src=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PP-Parenting.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PP-Parenting.jpg 368w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/PP-Parenting-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 368px) 100vw, 368px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-165414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PP Parenting<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But as viewers can hear in Live Action&#8217;s video, Planned Parenthood actually appears to be the guilty party when it comes to not giving pregnant women all the information they are seeking.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, when Live Action investigators contacted Planned Parenthood&#8217;s facility in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/texas\/austin\/78704\/south-austin-health-center-2397-91620\/pregnancy-testing-options\">South Austin, Texas<\/a>,\u00a0to inquire about prenatal care, the Planned Parenthood staffer responded that they &#8220;do not offer prenatal care.&#8221; However, at the time the call was made, &#8220;prenatal&#8221; was clearly listed\u00a0in bold text at the top of the website (see left side in screen capture comparison\u00a0below). As you can see,\u00a0Planned Parenthood <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-purges-prenatal-from-websites-after-live-action-investigation\/\">purged<\/a>\u00a0the term &#8220;prenatal&#8221; the Planned Parenthood staffer suggested that the caller &#8220;find that information on Google.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then, when the caller asked Planned Parenthood about &#8220;adoption&#8221;\u00a0services (also clearly in bold text at the top of the website), the Planned Parenthood staffer clarifies that these services\u00a0are merely\u00a0&#8220;referrals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked if the center offers any of the three options, Live Action&#8217;s investigator is told that the South Austin Planned Parenthood only offers abortion, despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/texas\/austin\/78704\/south-austin-health-center-2397-91620\/pregnancy-testing-options\">updated pages<\/a> still claiming to offer some form of adoption or prenatal assistance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trained Staffers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood facilities in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/new-york\/corning\/14830\/corning-health-center-2345-91090\/pregnancy-testing-options\">Corning, NY<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/minnesota\/brooklyn-park\/55445\/brooklyn-park-clinic-2671-90720\/pregnancy-testing-options\">Brooklyn Park, MN<\/a>,\u00a0state online that they have trained staffers available to discuss all pregnancy options as well.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/new-york\/corning\/14830\/corning-health-center-2345-91090\/pregnancy-testing-options\">Corning<\/a> Planned Parenthood (listed as a Title X-funded facility in the state&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Title-X-Clinics-by-County-9-08-16-002.pdf\">2016 directory<\/a>)\u00a0told Live Action&#8217;s investigator that the only option they offer pregnant women is abortion: &#8220;We tell you you&#8217;re pregnant and then we offer at Planned Parenthood to do the abortions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/health-center\/minnesota\/brooklyn-park\/55445\/brooklyn-park-clinic-2671-90720\/pregnancy-testing-options\">Brooklyn Park, MN<\/a>, center made it clear to Live Action&#8217;s investigator that\u00a0it\u00a0offers only &#8220;pregnancy tests and then abortion care,&#8221; despite being listed in the state&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.health.state.mn.us\/divs\/cfh\/program\/familyplanning\/directory.cfm\">directory<\/a>\u00a0of Title X funded centers.<\/p>\n<p>Despite offering the Live Action investigator no\u00a0options other than\u00a0pregnancy tests and abortion, at the time the calls were made, both of these centers deceptively highlighted &#8220;adoption&#8221;
