In a recent town hall, Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) told his constituents that he will protect the federal funding of Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n

Heller defended America\u2019s largest abortion corporation by saying he \u201cwill protect Planned Parenthood,\u201d and that he has\u00a0\u201cno problem with federal funding\u201d of the abortion giant.<\/p>\n

However, with\u00a0the help of his communications director, the lawmaker, who considers himself pro-life\u00a0(though in 2006, he told a news outlet<\/a> that he “back[ed] a woman’s right to choose abortion,” essentially claiming a ‘personally pro-life’ position) and\u00a0who is up for re-election in 2018, retracted his pro-Planned Parenthood remarks made at Monday\u2019s town hall.<\/p>\n

Heller is \u201copposed to providing federal funding to any organization that performs abortions and is supported by taxpayers\u2019 dollars,\u201d his communications director said.<\/p>\n

Congressman Heller seems to be indecisive on Planned Parenthood and the $550 million it receives annually in federal funding. Maybe if he knew a little bit about Planned Parenthood and its alternative \u2013 the Federally Qualified Health Centers that offer real health care for low-income women \u2013 he would be less keen to defend the abortion giant.<\/p>\n

As America\u2019s largest abortion corporation, Planned Parenthood commits a third\u00a0of the country\u2019s abortions; that\u2019s more than 320,000 abortions every year, 887 abortions every day, and one abortion every 97 seconds.<\/p>\n
