{"id":164380,"date":"2017-03-28T14:26:32","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T18:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=164380"},"modified":"2017-03-28T14:26:32","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T18:26:32","slug":"st-louis-planned-parenthood-sends-65th-patient-to-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/st-louis-planned-parenthood-sends-65th-patient-to-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"St. Louis Planned Parenthood sends 65th patient to the hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Abortion is touted as safe and legal, yet Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri just sent its 65th patient to the hospital since 2009 on March 24th, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/safety-crisis-planned-parenthood-in-st-louis-hospitalizes-65th-patient-while-congress-fiddles-and-media-ignores\/\">according to<\/a>\u00a0Operation Rescue. If this story sounds familiar, that&#8217;s because the facility had <a href=\"\/news\/st-louis-planned-parenthood-sends-64th-patient-hospital-ambulance\/\">sent its 64th patient to the hospital less than two weeks before<\/a>.\u00a0These numbers are staggering, with ambulance transports occurring on average once every six weeks since 2009.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/safety-crisis-planned-parenthood-in-st-louis-hospitalizes-65th-patient-while-congress-fiddles-and-media-ignores\/\">Operation Rescue<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A photograph of the incident was taken by a member of the Coalition for Life St. Louis during a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil. The picture was snapped moments before Planned Parenthood workers deployed tarps, known as the \u201cSheets of Shame,\u201d to block pro-life supporters from documenting the emergency.<\/p>\n<p>The photo showed a woman on a gurney who was completely covered with sheets as she was removed from the notorious Planned Parenthood abortion facility for emergency transport.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The reason for all these complications may have something to do with conditions which are not only poor, but worsening. The\u00a0facility has received\u00a0several Statement of Deficiency Reports from state health inspectors, with 53 percent of them &#8220;related to failure to provide a safe and sanitary environment,&#8221; says\u00a0Operation Rescue, which provided <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/health-inspections-reveal-st-louis-planned-parenthood-isnt-safe-or-clean\/\">a full report<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For all these failings, Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said they &#8220;consider this the most dangerous abortion facility in the U.S.&#8221; He also spoke of the hypocrisy and double standard when it comes to abortion incidents:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If any other medical office in the country was calling for emergency assistance for patients as often as this facility is, it would be a public scandal. Investigative reporters would be falling over themselves trying to expose this safety crisis. But since abortion is involved, there is not one word from the media. Their silence is enabling this dangerous abortion business to continue the carnage of babies and mothers alike.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The facility is the only facility currently committing abortions in\u00a0Missouri, making the state one of six with only one abortion facility. Unfortunately,\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/6-states-have-only-one-remaining-abortion-facility\/\">a closer look of these six facilities<\/a> reveals that\u00a0the kind of care women receive\u00a0there is far from the best.<\/p>\n<p>As Live Action News <a href=\"\/news\/lets-address-the-misconceptions-about-planned-parenthood-and-their-services\/\">reported<\/a>, the Twitter account for Planned Parenthood Missouri Advocates, which describes itself as a &#8220;joint project&#8221; of the facility, tweeted about the St. Louis facility in question <em>just one day<\/em> after the incident occurred:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Rep. Ann Wagner&#8217;s constituents looking for breast exams, contraceptives + other services they get from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPSLR\">@PPSLR<\/a>. Can she help them?? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KnqB532rpp\">pic.twitter.com\/KnqB532rpp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PPMO Advocates (@PPMO_Advocates) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPMO_Advocates\/status\/845750749678243841\">March 25, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Such a picture may be playful, but when a patient is sent to the hospital just the day before, it&#8217;s certainly not\u00a0fun and games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abortion is touted as safe and legal, yet Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri just sent its 65th patient to the hospital since 2009 on March 24th, according to\u00a0Operation Rescue.
