Christianson, who represented her state in the Miss America competition in 2016, affirmed that\u00a0being pro-life is in favor of women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne aspect that I love in particular about being a title holder is that I represent such an amazing organization, yet I\u2019m still an individual that can stand for things that I\u2019m passionate about and that matters to me,\u201d Christianson\u00a0said. \u201cI have immense respect for our state for having taken a stand for what I believe is right in regard to abortion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Christianson added that North Dakota is an example of a state working to protect the rights of both women and their preborn children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have had people tell me that North Dakota is against women and our rights,&#8221; she said.\u00a0&#8220;I have to disagree, because not only do we support our women, but we support our women who are unborn and can\u2019t speak for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMissAmericaND%2Fposts%2F1894211690855724%3A0&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"608\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Forum News Service columnist\u00a0Rob Port praised\u00a0Christianson&#8217;s speech as courageous and refreshingly &#8220;out of the ideological mold&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I don\u2019t know what Christianson\u2019s politics are, beyond her comments about abortion, but kudos to her for being willing to break out of the ideological mold liberals cast for women.
