{"id":163762,"date":"2017-03-14T17:44:08","date_gmt":"2017-03-14T21:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=163762"},"modified":"2017-03-14T17:41:26","modified_gmt":"2017-03-14T21:41:26","slug":"becoming-desensitized-to-killing-is-easier-than-you-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/becoming-desensitized-to-killing-is-easier-than-you-think\/","title":{"rendered":"Becoming desensitized to killing is easier than you think"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Only a short time ago, undercover videos\u00a0from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) horrified the American public because they revealed high ranking Planned Parenthood staffers callously joking over selling the body parts of the children they had dismembered through abortion.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with CMP, former StemExpress fetal procurement tech Holly O\u2019Donnell gave a stomach turning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/2015\/08\/19\/witness-planned-parenthood-harvests-brains-from-live-baby-with-beating-heart-by-cutting-through-his-face\/\" target=\"_blank\">description<\/a>\u00a0of how she was instructed to cut\u00a0through the face of an intact unborn child whose heart was beating to harvest his brain tissue:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FzMAycMMXp8\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd she has one of her instruments and she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I\u2019m sitting here and I\u2019m looking at this fetus, <strong>and its heart is beating, and I don\u2019t know what to think,<\/strong>\u201d O\u2019Donnell says in the video.<\/p>\n<p>She emotionally recalled saying to herself, \u201cNo, I don\u2019t want to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But then, she did.<\/p>\n<p>For many within the abortion industry &#8212; and sadly, those who circled like vultures to pick apart and profit off the carcasses of these aborted and now dead children &#8212; they easily rationalized their actions\u00a0by claiming that the baby was dead anyway, so why not use his\u00a0parts for &#8220;good.&#8221; The very idea that taking a human life and then parceling out the body parts for research could amount to any &#8220;good&#8221; shows just how far our society has tumbled into depravity.<\/p>\n<p>What has become of our culture that allows a person with a conscience to so easily betray it?<\/p>\n<p>Nazi institute SS research pathologist, Dr. Hans Munch, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/newspapers?nid=1946&amp;dat=19820306&amp;id=4mUxAAAAIBAJ&amp;sjid=8aQFAAAAIBAJ&amp;pg=4858,1760465&amp;hl=en\">once described<\/a> Josef Mengele in a way startlingly\u00a0close to what we hear coming from Planned Parenthood defenders today:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mengele saw the gassings as the only rational solution and argued that as the prisoners were going to be gassed anyway, there was no reason not to use them for medical experiments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Out of the 44 Nazi doctors tried after the war, Munch was the only one acquitted.\u00a0He refuted the claim that the Nazis who participated in the murders of Jews were just \u201cobeying orders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing was going to make me do it,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cNo one in the SS was forced to do anything against his will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he was fully aware of the gassing being carried out at the concentration camp, he replied, \u201cYes, I was. One was always aware of the smell of burning. Everyone for miles around knew about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that at times he could hear the death moans of the victims, which he described as \u201ca\u00a0sound like no other&#8230;.Very soft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But those sounds are not nearly as soft as the fatal silence\u00a0of those killed in America&#8217;s abortion facilities before they can utter a single cry.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Live Action, former Planned Parenthood nurse Marianne Anderson described the gruesome images she witnessed\u00a0in the &#8220;products of conception&#8221; or &#8220;POC&#8221; lab at her facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes, I just couldn\u2019t take it,\u201d she said. &#8220;I\u2019ll never forget [the abortionist] saying. Now, where\u2019s your little arm? Oh, there you are! Now, where\u2019s the head?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Dd7FREk_HjI\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Former abortion clinic worker Catherine Adair\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wncJ7uZz3tE&amp;t=20m0s\">described<\/a>\u00a0the way she and other abortion workers were desensitized to view\u00a0&#8220;products of conception,&#8221; referred to as &#8220;POC&#8217;s,&#8221; as something other than human beings:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;At the end of the day I had to count them all up&#8230;. And of course we would joke around and call the POC&#8217;s &#8220;pieces of children..&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230; And, of course, now I can see the horror of that but at the time, I could say that without even thinking of them as human beings. I thought it was funny that other people thought that we were killing children. That&#8217;s ridiculous &#8211; why would we be killing children? But, that&#8217;s how shut off my brain was.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Adair goes on to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wncJ7uZz3tE&amp;t=22m0s\">describe<\/a>\u00a0cleaning up the abortion procedure room after second trimester abortions:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;And I look over at the table&#8230; and there was a jar. And, in the jar were arms and legs. And, I stood there and I looked at it&#8230;. And, then, I couldn&#8217;t process it &#8211; I thought I can&#8217;t being seeing this &#8211; it isn&#8217;t real. And, I just backed out of the room in shock&#8230;. I had this horrible sense that I had been lied to. I didn&#8217;t realize it before. I didn&#8217;t realize we had been talking about babies&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_74405\" style=\"width: 682px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74405\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-74405\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/gosnell-6721.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/gosnell-6721.jpg 672w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/gosnell-6721-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-74405\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">via theaustralian.com.au<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n<p>In May of 2013, abortionist Kermit Gosnell was found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2013\/05\/13\/jury-split-on-2-counts-in-trial-abortion-doctor-kermit-gosnell\/\">guilty<\/a>\u00a0of murdering three babies born alive in his Philadelphia &#8220;House of Horrors&#8221; abortion clinic. Gosnell stabbed the infants, who were born alive during late-term abortions, in the back of the neck, &#8220;snipping&#8221; their spinal cords.<\/p>\n<p>During his trial, Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/crime\/abortion-doctor-lawyer-plays-race-card-article-1.1292008\">said<\/a>\u00a0Gosnell&#8217;s &#8220;standard practice&#8230; was to slay babies,&#8221; and that his\u00a0staff went along with the routine because they were nearly as desperate as the women.\u00a0Employee Ashley Baldwin even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philly.com\/philly\/news\/breaking\/20130411_I_assisted_Gosnell_in_abortions_as_a_high_school_sophomore__witne.html\">testified<\/a> that she witnessed an aborted baby \u201cscreeching&#8221; and said\u00a0one baby was so big that Gosnell joked that \u201cthis baby is going to walk me home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baldwin noted that\u00a0the infants Gosnell killed \u201clooked just like regular babies.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_163771\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-163771\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-163771\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/LindaWilliams2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/LindaWilliams2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/LindaWilliams2-80x80.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-163771\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gosnell employee Lynda Williams<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Abortion worker\u00a0Lynda Williams testified that Gosnell taught her how to flip the body of the baby over and snip its neck with a pair of scissors to ensure \u201cfetal demise.\u201d Williams also testified that she followed Gosnell\u2019s orders when Gosnell was away and took a baby that was delivered in a toilet and snipped its neck.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It jumped, the arm,&#8221; USA Today <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/04\/09\/philadelphia-abortion-clinic-deaths\/2069021\/\">reports<\/a>\u00a0her saying, demonstrating for\u00a0the court\u00a0jury by raising her arm.\u00a0\u201cI only do what I\u2019m told to do,&#8221; Williams said. &#8220;What I was told to do was snip their neck.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In an attempt to justify her actions, Williams <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/04\/09\/philadelphia-abortion-clinic-deaths\/2069021\/\">added<\/a>,\u00a0&#8220;I never knew it was murder.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Abortion worker Adrienne Moton also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/05\/28\/pearl-gosnell-abortion\/2367519\/\">claimed<\/a> she was just &#8220;doing whatever I was told&#8221;\u00a0when she worked for Gosnell.<\/p>\n<p>Other staffers also confessed to participating in the ghoulish acts simply because Gosnell told them to.<\/p>\n<p>Although there were <a href=\"https:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/2013\/10\/11\/fox-news-contributor-sally-kohn-spins-on-gosnells-house-of-horrors-abortion-clinic\/\">red flags<\/a> about Gosnell&#8217;s ghoulish practices for many years, tragically, they were systematically ignored by the medical community, politicians, and state inspectors wanting to please the abortion lobby.<\/p>\n<p>What these stories reveal is what history has already taught us: killing another human being begins when we allow ourselves to be desensitized to violence against other human beings. This is true of other inhumanities, and it&#8217;s true of abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Writing in The Guardian, John Izard\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk\/2001\/feb\/17\/johnezard\">review<\/a>\u00a0of the book &#8220;Backing Hitler&#8221; draws a descriptive picture of how society stood complicit in the crimes of the Nazis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>They knew concentration camps were full of Jewish people who were stigmatized as sub-human and race-defilers. They <strong> knew\u00a0<\/strong>that these, like other groups and minorities, were being killed out of hand.<\/p>\n<p>They <strong>knew <\/strong>that Adolf Hitler had repeatedly forecast the extermination of every Jew on German soil. They <strong>knew <\/strong>these details because they had read about them. They <strong>knew <\/strong>because the camps and the measures which led up to them had been prominently and proudly reported step by step in thousands of officially-inspired German media articles and posters\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In his address, &#8220;National Sermons, Speeches, and Letters on Slavery and its war,&#8221; preacher Gilbert Haven painted a\u00a0descriptive image of slavery as an evil approaching the shore\u00a0and\u00a0asked a stunning question which we should ask ourselves today with regard to the evil of abortion:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We are so familiar with the word Slavery that its real scope and character do not smite the eye with true horror. If this nation stood today, perfectly free from this iniquity, and could behold it approaching its shores, and demanding the sovereignty, we should rise up as one man against the hellish foe\u2026. How horrible its sin, how horrible will be its punishment!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Today, the American taxpayer is forced to fund the nation&#8217;s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood, which has exterminated over 300,000 children annually for years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Will history one day look at us and write about the fact that &#8220;we knew&#8221; the abortion industry was killing innocent children,\u00a0yet\u00a0we stood idly by and allowed our dollars to fund this evil instead of taking action by speaking up, writing legislators, or offering help to women seeking abortions?<\/p>\n<p>It is up to us to be the conscience of the nation.
