Despite this, the organization\u00a0maintains that abortion comprises\u00a0only 3 percent of its\u00a0services,<a title=\"\" href=\"\/news\/washington-post-3-pinocchios-planned-parenthoods-3-percent-figure\/\" target=\"_blank\"> a claim that has been debunked<\/a> numerous times, as in this article in the <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/fact-checker\/wp\/2015\/08\/12\/for-planned-parenthood-abortion-stats-3-percent-and-94-percent-are-both-misleading\/?utm_term=.d7416765d6fb\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Post<\/a><em>.\u00a0<\/em>You can see a video explaining how Planned Parenthood comes up with the misleading figure below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qtgqxvaV-8U\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Former abortion facility director Abby Johnson had good intentions when she began working at Planned Parenthood. \u00a0After observing the way the abortion chain worked, her feelings began to change.\u00a0In her book <em><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ignatius.com\/Products\/WT-H\/the-walls-are-talking.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">The Walls are Talking<\/a>,<\/em> she writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When the nation\u2019s largest abortion provider claimed that abortion represented only 3% of the services provided, I doggedly embraced that \u201cfact\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The longer I was a part of the industry and the deeper I delved into the inner workings of the clinic, both medical and financial, even I found that fact impossible to believe. I knew what brought women to our clinic, and I knew exactly what \u201cservices\u201d we were providing. The numbers simply didn\u2019t add up. When I went to my supervisors about this, I was instantly shot down. Instead of brainstorming with me about ways to reduce abortions, they talked of budgets and the need to increase our cash flow. The way we did that? Abortion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As Johnson discovered, abortion as a huge money-maker for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood has been shown to use <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/former-planned-parenthood-manager-describes-pressuring-women-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\">manipulative tactics<\/a>\u00a0during abortion &#8216;counseling,&#8221;\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/medical-misinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\">lies about fetal development<\/a>, and in rare cases, <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/former-planned-parenthood-worker-tells-a-forced-abortion-of-17-year-old\/\" target=\"_blank\">outright coercion<\/a> in order to compel women to have abortions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Abby Johnson <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/former-clinic-worker-abby-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\">witnessed the abortion<\/a> of a 13-week-old preborn baby on ultrasound, she was converted to the pro-life cause.
