The information stems from a 2011 investigation where Live Action investigators exposed eight Planned Parenthood clinic staffers at seven different Planned Parenthood facilities willing to aid and abet child sex traffickers by suggesting how to get abortions and birth control for their 14- and 15-year-old victims.<\/p>\n<p>Just watch how Stuart Schear, Vice President for Communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, is more concerned about falsely discrediting Live Action than about the safety of the girls his organization claims to protect.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hMONohwAWcg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>In <a href=\"\/news\/media-caught-planned-parenthoods-web-lies-part-one\/\">part one<\/a>\u00a0of this article series,\u00a0Live Action News documented how a Planned Parenthood insider revealed the retraining the organization told the media they were conducting was nothing short of a hoax. Part two will\u00a0expose how Planned Parenthood&#8217;s 2011 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/about-us\/newsroom\/press-releases\/planned-parenthood-informs-federal-authorities-potential-sex-trafficking\" target=\"_blank\">claim <\/a>that it had been in contact with the local authorities after suspected sex traffickers visited several facilities was also a hoax. The\u00a0media was used to further this deception, too,<\/p>\n<p>When Live Action released footage from a New Jersey Planned Parenthood center (where the manager warned the Live Action investigator, posing as a pimp, to have their <strong>trafficked underage girls lie about their age<\/strong> to avoid mandatory reporting laws), The New York Times <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/02\/02\/us\/02parenthood.html?partner=rss&amp;emc=rss&amp;_r=0\">reported<\/a> that the center had notified authorities:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In a statement responding to the <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/child-sex-trafficking-cover-up\/#tab-45a4e809-3d06-1e253-5beb80b8-9371\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a>, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America said that immediately after the \u201chighly unusual\u201d visit to a clinic in Perth Amboy, N.J., by a man posing as a sex trafficker and a woman posing as a prostitute, it had notified legal authorities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Washington Times also\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2011\/feb\/1\/video-shows-planned-parenthood-manager-aiding-pimp\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> that Planned Parenthood of New Jersey had contacted local authorities, quoting Planned Parenthood directly:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOn that same day, prior to learning that these visits had also occurred in other states, the local Planned Parenthood affiliate notified local law enforcement in New Jersey..\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To verify the truth of these claims (something the media should have followed up with but did not), <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/learn\/new-lies-planned-parenthoods-sex-trafficking-coverup\/\">Live Action made a series of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records requests<\/a> of law enforcement and child protective services in the states and cities where the alleged trafficking occurred.\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/FOIA-Response-Letters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">responses<\/a>\u00a0show that out of five states and Washington, D.C., only one state \u2014 Arizona \u2014 \u00a0had responsive records showing Planned Parenthood reported anything to authorities. A copy of one of the many <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/FOIA-Response-Letters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">responses<\/a> Live Action received is below:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_160661\" style=\"width: 245px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-160661\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-160661\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/State-of-NJ-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/State-of-NJ-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-235x300.jpg 235w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/State-of-NJ-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-500x638.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/State-of-NJ-Live-Action-FOIA-Response.jpg 526w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-160661\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">State of NJ Live Action FOIA Response<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The situation in Virginia also shows how Planned Parenthood deceived the media with their false claims.<\/p>\n<p>On February 7, 2011, New York Times reporter Erik Eckholm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/02\/08\/us\/08parenthood.html\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> another report, claiming he was told that Planned Parenthood reported possible\u00a0sex trafficking to local and federal authorities in Virginia as well:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In a similar case involving clinics in Virginia&#8230;Planned Parenthood said it had reported the suspicious visits to clinics in New Jersey, Virginia and other states last month to local and federal law enforcement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But, official Virginia FOIA responses seem to contradict Planned Parenthood&#8217;s claim that they reported the incident locally. Below, you can see one of those responses from the Commonwealth of Virginia Social Services, where they state &#8220;VDSS has no records in response to your request.&#8221; Others can be viewed <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/FOIA-Response-Letters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_160658\" style=\"width: 253px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-160658\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-160658\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/VA-social-services-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-243x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"243\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/VA-social-services-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-243x300.jpg 243w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/VA-social-services-Live-Action-FOIA-Response-500x618.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/VA-social-services-Live-Action-FOIA-Response.jpg 536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-160658\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">VA social services Live Action FOIA Response<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The New York Times went on to claim that Planned Parenthood told them their staffers had &#8220;long been trained to obey local reporting laws as well as to use common sense when confronted with evidence of the abuse of minors.&#8221; (<a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-has-failed-to-report-child-sexual-abuse-for-decades-part-two\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>, in fact, has <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-failed-report-child-sexual-abuse-decades-part-one\/\">a very bad record<\/a> when it comes to reporting the abuse of minors.)<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/planned-parenthood-of-metropolitan-new-jersey\/stand-with-planned-parenthood\/499664553516\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a> on Facebook, claiming that her multi-million dollar abortion organization reported the alleged &#8220;sex traffickers&#8221; to local and federal authorities. The statement read in part:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Anti-choice extremists, who have been attacking Planned Parenthood for five years, released a secretly taped video claiming that Planned Parenthood is covering up exploitation of children&#8230; <strong>Planned Parenthood staff immediately reported them to both local and federal authorities.\u00a0<\/strong>(FB: Stand with Planned Parenthood February 2, 2011 at 10:22am)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then, in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tS2Hd-WOETg\" target=\"_blank\">interview<\/a> with Democracy Now, uploaded February 16, 2011, Richards, who earns close to one million dollars a year from her organization, said again that she had reported the &#8220;sex traffickers&#8221; to both local and federal authorities:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As soon as we saw that there were folks posing as these people as pimps as prostitutes, claiming that they were underage sex trafficking rings, we reported <strong>not only to the local authorities<\/strong> but we went to the US Attorney General&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>(To hear Richard&#8217;s make this claim go to 8:28 below) <\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tS2Hd-WOETg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>While it may be true that Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards sent a <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/PP-letter-to-AG-Holder-re-sex-trafficking-1-18-11.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">lette<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/PP-letter-to-AG-Holder-re-sex-trafficking-1-18-11.pdf\">r<\/a> to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, the letter failed to correctly identify all the states where possible sex trafficking could have been occurring. Additionally, the letter claimed that Planned Parenthood staffers made it clear to the &#8220;sex trafficker&#8221; that they would comply with state laws and report suspected conduct that endangered minors. (A point which appears to be contradicted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/child-sex-trafficking-cover-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">undercover video conversations<\/a> with staffers.)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_160676\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-160676\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-160676\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking-768x430.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking-700x392.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking-500x280.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Live-ACtion-FOIA-Letters-Planned-Parenthoods-sex-trafficking.jpg 857w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-160676\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Live Action FOIA Letters Planned Parenthood sex trafficking<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Despite Richard&#8217;s claim, Live Action&#8217;s FOIA <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/FOIA-Response-Letters.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">responses<\/a>\u00a0from the various State Justice Departments, Police Departments, and Child Protective Services listed in Planned Parenthood&#8217;s letter show that only one state \u2014 Arizona \u2014 had responsive records showing Planned Parenthood reported anything to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The organization then sent out all their leaders to conduct a total PR campaign claiming that the organization always reports abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Erica Sackin, media relations coordinator for Planned Parenthood of New York provided a written statement to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncregister.com\/site\/article\/lila-rose-vs.-planned-parenthood1#ixzz2DXKIBR8s\" target=\"_blank\">NCRegister.com<\/a>, which said, &#8220;All teens who disclose abuse meet with a licensed social worker, who records and reports the abuse.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Heather Estes, CEO of Planned Parenthood\u2019s Shasta-Pacific region, told\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/napavalleyregister.com\/news\/local\/pickets-target-napa-planned-parenthood-after-new-jersey-sting\/article_9c4c1462-38c2-11e0-9de7-001cc4c03286.html\" target=\"_blank\">Napa Valley Register<\/a>\u00a0that although there are \u201coccasions when our staff don\u2019t do what they should do,\u201d Planned Parenthood\u2019s practice is to report all cases of child prostitution and other child abuse to the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Joan Malin, president of Planned Parenthood of New York City, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/02\/09\/nyregion\/09sting.html\" target=\"_blank\">admitted<\/a> to the New York Times that they are \u201crequired to report anything we believe is child abuse or neglect by a parent or guardian, which we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Planned Parenthood of New York somewhat contradicted that acknowledgment in a published\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/planned-parenthood-of-new-york-city-action-fund\/false-claims-now-being-made-against-ppnyc\/187924434561600\" target=\"_blank\">statement <\/a>that\u00a0explained PPNY only reports abuse that is &#8220;disclosed&#8221; by the teen:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;All teens coming into Planned Parenthood of New York City are screened for child abuse and neglect. All teens who disclose abuse meet with a licensed social worker, who records and reports the abuse.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s misleading statement was then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2011\/US\/02\/08\/abortion.video.retraining\/\" target=\"_blank\">repeated<\/a> by CNN.<\/p>\n<p>There are additional examples showing how the largest chain of abortion providers deceives the media. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f6sK7iU2YsU\" target=\"_blank\">tape <\/a>below, you hear a Planned Parenthood representative claim they could not report child sexual abuse in another <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/sexual-abuse-cover-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">Live Action sting,<\/a> because the &#8220;girl&#8221; had not provided her name, when in fact, Live Action&#8217;s footage included in the video below clearly shows she did.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f6sK7iU2YsU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>As\u00a0Live Action News and others have documented repeatedly (information those within the media establishment never seem to mention), Planned Parenthood has been <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-failed-report-child-sexual-abuse-decades-part-one\/\" target=\"_blank\">failing to report<\/a> child sexual abuse for decades. Their damaging response to victims of sex trafficking has been <a href=\"\/news\/heres-what-happens-sex-trafficking-victims-taken-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\">documented<\/a><a href=\"\/news\/heres-what-happens-sex-trafficking-victims-taken-planned-parenthood\/\"> here<\/a> and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood is a recipient of half a billion in federal tax dollars each year. If for no other reason than this &#8212; and there are plenty of reasons to protect young girls &#8212; the media owes it to the public to call this abortion corporation to the highest standard. In addition, under Title X &#8212; the family planning program that also funnels millions to Planned Parenthood &#8212; recipients of these dollars are <a href=\"\/news\/regulation-remove-title-x-funding-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\">expected <\/a>to comply with state and federal laws regarding the reporting of child sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of applying the journalistic practice of &#8216;trust but verify,&#8217; too often members of the media are more interested in receiving one of Planned Parenthood&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/about-us\/newsroom\/ppfa-maggie-awards-for-media-excellence\" target=\"_blank\">awards<\/a> than in doing the hard work of investigating the facts.
