But a deeper look at the reality shows it to be an illusion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uaK3wDXDnuY\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The ad&#8217;s text says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>These are the doors to Planned Parenthood. What we do isn\u2019t a secret. It\u2019s quality healthcare for women, men and young people. STI testing, well woman exams, birth control, sexual assault consultations&#8230;. and, safe and legal abortion. From the clinicians, to physicians, from the medical assistants to front office specialists\u2026 to you. The people we serve. We are all Planned Parenthood. And Planned Parenthood takes care of all of us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And\u00a0 therein lies the irony.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"\/news\/new-planned-parenthood-ad-exercise-irony\/screen-shot-2017-01-22-at-10-10-12-pm\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-160899\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-160899 aligncenter\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM-700x443.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM-700x443.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM-300x190.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM-768x486.png 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM-500x316.png 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-22-at-10.10.12-PM.png 1302w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A closer look at the ad&#8217;s text shows the extent of the irony.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we do isn\u2019t a secret.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Actually, it is quite secret. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/cmp\/investigative-footage\/\">The Center for Medical Progress revealed that in the summer of 2015<\/a>\u00a0when it went undercover. That long-term investigation showed all sorts of secrets, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2016\/02\/planned-parenthood-houston-admits-accounting-gimmicks-hide-baby-parts-sales-invoices-charge-thousands-of-dollars\/\">how Planned Parenthood profits from\u00a0the sale of fetal parts by using some creative accounting<\/a>,\u00a0 or how a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2015\/10\/planned-parenthood-tx-doc-harvesting-intact-fetal-heads-will-give-me-something-to-strive-for\/\">Planned Parenthood abortionist strives to retrieve an intact brain from an abortion<\/a>, or how the organization could have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2015\/09\/top-planned-parenthood-exec-agrees-baby-parts-sales-a-valid-exchange-some-clinics-generate-a-fair-amount-of-income-doing-this\/\">&#8220;huge PR issue&#8221;<\/a> if anyone found out about the fetal parts sales the abortion corporation does. Of course, one of the most infamous lines from the secret talks is Planned Parenthood Federation of America\u2019s Medical Directors\u2019 Council President, Dr. Mary Gatter,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2015\/07\/second-planned-parenthood-senior-executive-haggles-over-baby-parts-prices-changes-abortion-methods\/\">telling CMP actors<\/a>,\u00a0&#8220;I want a Lamborghini,&#8221; during a negotiation on\u00a0how much money Planned Parenthood would expect to charge\u00a0per\u00a0aborted baby part specimen. That same conversation discussed altering the abortion procedure in order to increase the odds that the abortionist could obtain\u00a0an &#8220;intact specimen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As CMP noted, two federal laws were at issue with this investigation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).<\/p>\n<p>Federal law requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-160409\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DefundAd-400b-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, Planned Parenthood knows full well that what they do must remain secret. As the very first undercover video showed as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/2015\/07\/planned-parenthoods-top-doctor-praised-by-ceo-uses-partial-birth-abortions-to-sell-baby-parts\/\">it revealed the conversation<\/a> between Planned Parenthood&#8217;s then Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, and the CMP actors:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At the national office, we have a Litigation and Law Department which just really doesn\u2019t want us to be the middle people for this issue right now. But I will tell you that behind closed doors these conversations are happening with the affiliates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/plannedparenthoodrcext.peoplefluent.com\/viewjob.html?optlink-view=view-155000&amp;ERFormID=newjoblist&amp;ERFormCode=any\">Nucatola&#8217;s position is now open<\/a>, and the job\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/jobs\/view\/234111302\/\">posted this week on various job sites<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/deborah-nucatola-31b56669\/\">Nucatola is now the Hawaii Medical Director<\/a>\u00a0of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands.<\/p>\n<p>No matter who is at its helm in whatever state, it&#8217;s clear that what Planned Parenthood does surely <em>is<\/em> secret. If it weren&#8217;t secret, they wouldn&#8217;t need lawyers behind closed doors, secret meetings and creative accounting in order to &#8220;care&#8221; for women.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s quality healthcare for women, men and young people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Healthcare generally means that a person leaves an appointment on the road to better health after receiving care. This is not what happens at Planned Parenthood, by any means. According to the ad, women receive any number of services:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>STI testing, well woman exams, birth control, sexual assault consultations&#8230;. and, safe and legal abortion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Actually, the ad does do well to cover what it does, which is basically <em>all<\/em> it does. Note that it doesn&#8217;t tell women they can get regular medical treatment at their facilities as Cecile Richards and other leaders in the corporation constantly claim. Because they can&#8217;t. As <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\/\">Live Action has uncovered<\/a>, almost no Planned Parenthood facilities offer prenatal care to women (after Live Action&#8217;s expos\u00e9,\u00a0the organization began <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-purges-prenatal-from-websites-after-live-action-investigation\/\">purging the term\u00a0&#8220;prenatal&#8221;<\/a> from its\u00a0website), and they don&#8217;t offer diagnostic ultrasounds to women who have no intention of aborting:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_WXjoqbStEM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And perhaps the ad wants to gloss over what they really do when they say they offer &#8220;sexual assault consultations,&#8221; because as Live Action has also uncovered, those consultations are far more likely to include <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/sexual-abuse-cover-up\/\">covering up sexual abuse<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/child-sex-trafficking-cover-up\/\">covering up child sex-trafficking<\/a>. But doing so certainly does require a consultation so technically the ad is true.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, the ad truthfully states one of its purposes&#8211;abortion. The fact is, without abortion, there probably wouldn&#8217;t be a Planned Parenthood. And while the act of abortion may be legal, as CMP uncovered, the abortion giant might not always do\u00a0the procedure legally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the clinicians, to physicians, from the medical assistants to front office specialists\u2026 to you. The people we serve. We are all Planned Parenthood. And Planned Parenthood takes care of all of us.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Takes care&#8221; is one way to put a spin on taking care of the remains of dead babies by selling them to fetal parts companies. Or\u00a0 maybe it&#8217;s &#8220;taking care&#8221; of women by only helping them if they want to kill their baby. Perhaps Planned Parenthood &#8220;takes care&#8221; of all of us by giving people a safe place to bring their abuse victims for an abortion or STD test if the abuser wants to avoid being caught. Yes, Planned Parenthood has been known\u00a0to &#8220;take care&#8221; of that.<\/p>\n<p>But in reality, no, Planned Parenthood doesn&#8217;t take care of all of us. In fact, when it comes to actual health care, <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\/\">Planned Parenthood<\/a> &#8220;performs less than two percent of U.S. women\u2019s cancer screenings, zero mammograms, and offers virtually no prenatal care for women who want to keep their babies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The ad may be slick in its attempt to attract patients to its facilities, but on the inside, the abortion corporation will tell women a whole different story.
