The bill successfully cleared both the Kentucky state House and Senate, and was then sent to Governor Matt Bevin, who quickly signed it into law. Abortions after 20 weeks will only be permitted if the mother&#8217;s life is in danger, and excludes mental illness. In December, Ohio also <a href=\"\/news\/oh-governor-passes-20-week-abortion-ban-rejects-heartbeat-bill\/\">passed a 20-week abortion ban<\/a>, becoming the 18th state in the country to do so. Americans have overwhelmingly supported <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallup.com\/poll\/1576\/abortion.aspx\">banning second trimester abortion<\/a> over the years, and even &#8220;pro-choice&#8221; Americans <a href=\"\/news\/new-poll-shows-most-americans-would-ban-abortion-after-the-first-trimester\/\">support banning abortion after the first trimester<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to public support for 20-week abortion bans, legislators who vote in favor of them are also on the side of science. We know now that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doctorsonfetalpain.com\/\">preborn babies can feel pain by 20 weeks<\/a>, although it may be much sooner. And that makes second trimester abortions &#8212; such as a dilation and evacuation procedure, outlined here by former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino &#8212; even more horrific:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Late-term abortions are cruel and are never necessary.
