ARLINGTON, VA (June 24, 2016) — Statement from Lila Rose, president and founder of the national pro-life organization\u00a0Live Action<\/a>, on the\u00a0House Select Panel’s discovery<\/a>\u00a0that the University of New Mexico provided brains of viable aborted children to summer camp students to dissect.\u00a0 While the summer camp is not identified in the redacted notes from a university lab technician, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center offers the\u00a0Dream Makers Health Careers Program<\/a>, in which it \u201cprovides middle and high school students with unique opportunities to gain exposure to the many possibilities in the health professions while enhancing their science and math skills.\u201d \u00a0According to the\u00a0website, this includes \u201cdissection of various specimens.\u201d \u00a0The statement:<\/p>\n

“The select panel’s gruesome discovery that summer camp students were given whole brains of viable aborted children to dissect shows the barbaric nature of the abortion industry and the total disrespect for basic human rights that its allies share.\u00a0 At 24-28 weeks old, many of these babies could have survived outside the womb; instead, they were aborted by Southwestern Women’s Options and their body parts given to students to carve up.\u00a0 This unimaginable inhumane activity — as well as Southwestern Women’s Options and the University of New Mexico, the entities that facilitated it — must be unanimously condemned.\u00a0 As horrific as this is, we must admit that it’s no stretch for an industry to traffick in the bodies of the children it kills — after all, the killing and dismembering of these viable children in utero is the greater crime against humanity.\u00a0 The piecemealing and experimentation on the corpses of these children adds insult to the already grave human rights injury of abortion.”<\/em><\/p>\n
