{"id":15945,"date":"2016-06-14T18:05:46","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T22:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/?p=15945"},"modified":"2016-06-14T18:05:46","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T22:05:46","slug":"rose-statement-on-texas-judge-dropping-charge-against-daleiden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/rose-statement-on-texas-judge-dropping-charge-against-daleiden\/","title":{"rendered":"Rose statement on Texas judge dropping charge against Daleiden"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p dir=\"ltr\">ARLINGTON, VA (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1804616235\"><span class=\"aQJ\">June 14, 2016<\/span><\/span>) &#8212; Statement from Lila Rose, president and founder of the pro-life organization <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/liveaction.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1466025313133000&amp;usg=AFQjCNECeMaDj6oNkILImfskvvKhYvascw\">Live Action<\/a>, on a Houston judge dismissing the misdemeanor charge against David Daleiden for allegedly attempting to buy aborted baby parts from Planned Parenthood during his undercover investigation in Texas:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt&#8217;s incomprehensible that David Daleiden was charged with attempting to purchase baby body parts, but Planned Parenthood wasn\u2019t charged for allegedly negotiating to sell them.\u00a0 David\u2019s intent was clear to the district attorney from the start: \u00a0He was posing as an organ buyer to expose the barbaric practice and end Planned Parenthood\u2019s trafficking in baby parts.\u00a0 The district attorney knew David never intended to buy organs, which is why this charge was bogus from the start.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere we are, nearly a year after Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast officials were caught on video talking about altering abortions to deliver fully intact babies for dissection, as well as how much the parts trafficking business \u2018contributes so much to the bottom line\u2019 for Planned Parenthood, yet nothing has been done to hold them accountable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decision is a step in the right direction by the justice system in dealing with investigative journalism.\u00a0 While Planned Parenthood experienced a setback in Texas this week, in California, it continues its outrageous attacks on the freedom of the press and has pushed a bill to make it a crime for the news media to publish recordings of undercover footage taken inside its abortion facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There are several issues with how District Attorney Devon Harris has handled this case:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Assistant DA Sunni Mitchell colluded with Planned Parenthood lawyer Josh Schaffer by Schaffer\u2019s own admission.\u00a0 Mitchell said she would find a way to get David Daleiden\u2019s unreleased videos to Planned Parenthood\u2019s lawyers &#8212; something the Texas AG\u2019s office specifically told the DA not to share.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Assistant DA Lauren Reed is a board member of the very Planned Parenthood that was supposed to be under investigation.\u00a0 When this was pointed out last fall, Anderson refused to recuse her office from the case.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anderson admitted<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/313310482\/State-s-Response-to-Defendant-s-MTQ-With-Exhibits-David-Robert-Daleiden\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/313310482\/State-s-Response-to-Defendant-s-MTQ-With-Exhibits-David-Robert-Daleiden&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1466025313133000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHQIIOZAtiW2Ze98PmtJB3O3rs7TQ\"> in a brief<\/a> that Texas law prohibited her from making public David\u2019s indictment before he was \u201cin custody or under bond,\u201d \u00a0but she ignored the law and sent out a news release announcing his indictment a week and a half before that happened. She said her breaking the law \u201cwas a mere technical, inconsequential violation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anderson\u2019s office also gave Planned Parenthood\u2019s attorney a heads up before they sent the news release out. \u00a0(Planned Parenthood attorney Josh Schaffer\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/313310482\/State-s-Response-to-Defendant-s-MTQ-With-Exhibits-David-Robert-Daleiden\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/313310482\/State-s-Response-to-Defendant-s-MTQ-With-Exhibits-David-Robert-Daleiden&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1466025313133000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHQIIOZAtiW2Ze98PmtJB3O3rs7TQ\">affidavit says this<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The DA\u2019s news release also misled the media and the public. The release specifically stated, \u201cThis grand jury cleared PPGC of breaking the law.\u201d Grand juries have no authority to \u201cclear\u201d anyone or declare them innocent. The Associated Press also <a href=\"http:\/\/bigstory.ap.org\/article\/0f9ee593bc8d4d4e904c33bb08f0f9dc\/houston-prosecutor-has-angered-anti-abortion-groups\">reported<\/a> that the grand jury never even voted on charges against Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"># # #<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ARLINGTON, VA (June 14, 2016) &#8212;
