The beautiful girls were\u00a0born conjoined, but are healing from a successful surgery that took 50 medical professionals and 17 hours. A viral video shows the two enthralled at the sight of each other after they are finally reunited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fstanfordchildrens%2Fvideos%2F10154850521982661%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Sandoval twins&#8217; story shows what can happen when a medical team is focused on life &#8212; and the value of every life &#8212; even in the midst of difficult and unusual circumstances. Throughout the pregnancy, the doctors diligently worked to keep the girls and their mother healthy and alive &#8212; even simulating various delivery scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford Children&#8217;s Health <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stanfordchildrens.org\/en\/about\/news\/releases\/2016\/conjoined-twins-successfully-separated\">reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After performing fetal MRI scans to investigate the babies\u2019 anatomy, the team brought in\u00a0<a title=\"Louis Halamek, MD\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stanfordchildrens.org\/en\/doctor\/default?id=louis-p-halamek\">Louis Halamek, MD<\/a>, professor of neonatal and developmental medicine and director of the Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education at Packard Children\u2019s, who made a specialized conjoined mannequin that resembled the twins as closely as possible to facilitate realistic simulations. The team practiced potential delivery scenarios with the mannequin, including intubating, or inserting breathing tubes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The twins&#8217; mother <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stanfordchildrens.org\/en\/about\/news\/releases\/2016\/conjoined-twins-successfully-separated\">is grateful<\/a> for the medical team&#8217;s focus and dedication to preserving her daughters&#8217; lives:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI can\u2019t say enough about all the members of the care team, the surgeons, physicians, nurses and all the specialists. Every incision they made, I know God was there,\u201d Aida Sandoval said. \u201cWe know Erika and Eva are bound for great, amazing things.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since the video of the girls has gone viral, their parents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ArturosAngels\/\">posted a message to the world<\/a> on Facebook:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It&#8217;s so heart warming to see our girls being shared with love across the country.
